That's why he's a good writer.

Echt waar?

It's exactly the same schtick as Barney Ronay. I don't need knockabout humour in my match write ups. I need to know what happened and, more importantly, why and how it happened. Jonathan Wilson is much better at this than Lieuw who is a bit of a jack of all trades. Tennis seems to be the sport he actually has an eye for, although maybe that's because I know nothing about it myself.

I always find it that fans only really disagree/get angry with opinion pieces when those opinions reflect the ones that, deep down, are the ones held by the fanbase.

None of us believe we're winning the league, but it's nice to enjoy this. That's all he's really said.

Why can't we? With a bit luck and momentum, anything is possible. Leicester proved it is possible.
With no fans to get nervous and agitated with the players, just let them keep doing what they are doing and see where it takes us.

Our manager knows how to win leagues, and he is assembling a team to do so imo.

Jonathan Wilson got dogs abuse in here the other week for suggesting we really shouldn't be looking to sign players like James if we want to be sustainable but then why not do it because it's fun.

They can't win.

Liew is in the same bracket as Ronay or Wilson now. He does comment pieces and colour pieces. Want a straight match report, go on goal.com - and you'll see plenty of mine as they are one of my company's major clients. It's the way it is.

I find Liew's writing pretty funny and witty. Sometimes it gets lost in its own self-importance but most of the major colour writers are all like that.

If he wrote that Everton are going to win the league after three wins then there would be fans asking why is he going overboard and its just an attempt to pile on unnecessary expectations.

Usually from the very beginning to the last full stop.

I don't agree with future predictions that we can't. With the rate of trajectory, you would not rule it out in the coming seasons with the quality of young players at the club, and a manager who knows how to win big prizes.

I'm probably getting way ahead of myself here, three (league wins) doesn't make a season. But if the last couple of seasons are to go by, if we can be consistent, there's definelty an opening for a European place. Possibly top 4. Problem is the the squad depth, that was clear to see today. Defensively we aren't there and Pickfords confidence is shot (no fans in the ground will probably help him though!).

Mmm difficult MoM... Richo Dom, Jim Dacoure or Gomes! Richo for tireless pursuit, and the silly penalty... Got away with it this time! Thought Gomes was excellent in first half.

Bitty game as expected. Thought we did well to make it scrappy in the second half and ended up making them bet on set pieces. Don’t think we played especially well but MOM Doucz for me. Covered a lot of ground and despite being wasteful on the ball was crucial in nullifying Zaha et al. UTFT
