Yep, fair enough. He is a love-or-hate-him character.

Unlucky your lot today, Alan. Played well but I think us sitting deep negated your best players to an extent. Thought Townsend and Eze played very well.

Now just hope we can come get Zaha off you ;)
Yes, having all that possession (42%) did for us. We are definitely an improved side. I think there is a possibility that Zaha may stay but expect some last minute bids.

Thought Carlo could've taken off DCL half way through 2nd half.
When team sitting deeper and soaking it up Dom was not the guy you want as an outlet further up the pitch.
5 balls sent up in quick succession, needed him to relieve a bit of pressure with some smart possession.
Doesn't have the touch/strength or know how o anticipate and get the jump on defender
Reckon Richarlison is much better suited to this role.
And could of brought on Neils to take over left wing and keep up the defending Richarlison was doing.

Then again Carlos the man. He knows what he's doing.

Personally I though palace dominated us in the second half and were lucky not to get a draw, we were pinned back in our own half for 30 minutes or more, admittedly we defended ok but against better sides we would have been punished today... severely.

True but at the same time. For all that pressure and keeping us on our own half, they didn't really have any good chances. So we defended well

What better sides are there this year though - I'm seeing fragile 'big' teams all over the place so far! Palace were solid and difficult for most of the game, not surprised they have Man Utd a tonking last week actually.

And regarding the handball/penalty...I think it was justified actually.

The ball was headed downwards with precision towards a goal scoring opportunity.

Hodgkinson moaning now that players will just flick ball the up into defenders hand to get a penalty - but only if it was leading to a goal scoring opportunity in my opinion.

That's why it was given.
