The tone in here is similar to that that existed in Soton threads on Cuco. He is no doubt polarising. Half their supporter base didn't rate him and half absolutely raved about him. And it's a similar ratio here on GOT. Quite fascinating. I suspect the truth regarding Cuco's ability/football talent lies somewhere between his detractors and those who idolise him. In this respect, I conjecture that he's not dissimilar to many of the globally recognised/revered footballers who receive adulation one moment and a little booing the next. Is this a consequence of jealousy? Goodness, I am not a psychologist so the answer to that question is beyond my ken.
Anyway, to conclude, love him or hate him, I would speculate that there is not one Evertonian who is not secretly very smug at the shrewd business EFC did in securing Cuco.
Crowd Facourite? Not yet but a few more weeks of seeing his marauding runs and lethal Curacaon/ Caribbean crosses, I think he will be.

An interesting phenomena, but I have a theory that explains it quite simply: 90% of people who post on message boards have absolutely no idea what they're talking about (and the remaining 10% aren't much better).

He's poop, mate

No question Cuco has that x factor; what the French call je ne sais quoi. Hopefully him being in the team might convince Olivier to transfer in.

I think I can say with a fair degree of certainty that if anyone is "jealous" of professional footballers, then they probably wouldn't watch or follow football.

not sure mate. People can be strange folk and petty jealousy, resentment and schadenfreude are not uncommon traits. I must say I do not detect such in Evertonians, we are certainly above that nonsense. I was referring more specifically to fans of clubs like Stoke, Newcastle, West Ham and Liverpool...terribly misguided fans follow those clubs.

No, I think Cuco will get a very warm reception at Everton...and become a fan favourite (I believe he's already won over most doubters)
