I’m very pleased if that’s so, but I thought we’d been lead to believe that the size and shape of the plot meant that the end of the stadium would be parallel to the river...

Broadcast and league rules dictate orientation

The ideal pitch orientation is between 285o NW to 20o NE in a north/south direction. The most common orientation is on a bearing of 345o.

Sounded from Meis’s comments that it’s not so much a rule as it is a convention (and that other orientations would require a lot of work to prevent sun being a problem)

That was the full 60k, the figure on the side is the footfall traffic, there is 2k more that exit via the underground car park.

But if we ended up with a 58k I wouldn't be complaining.

The main stand runs alongside the river, the large home end up against Nelson dock.
