Do you know him personally? No, it's more like given the choice between having a couple of pints and working on his conditioning, he'll always choose the pints.
Of course not. He's obviously out of shape (relative to what kind of shape you'd expect a professional athlete to be in) most of the time, though, and there is well-documented evidence that he spends a fair amount of time in pubs. It's not particle physics putting the two together, especially when you see how many non-contact injuries he's picked up over the years. I don't know Gareth Barry personally, either, but I can say with a fair amount of confidence that he spends a lot of time on his conditioning.Do you know him personally?

I don't have an agenda against him -- this is the first time I've written anything about him. I'd also like you to point out where I called him "unprofessional".Gibson in now way looks 'out of shape'. Stop fuelling your agenda against him.
He's a good player who has been unfortunate with injuries and perhaps just is unable to reach the level of quality we require to push us on at the moment.
Oviedo has also been incredibly unlucky with injuries - are you questioning his dedication to fitness? Gibson perhaps has a hint of the Darren Anderton's about him at times, but to call him unprofessional is slander.
Yes, he's made mistakes, but based on his footballing ability when he's played for us he's done well. But I can understand why the club may look to move him on this month - we just don't have the particular need for him if we get in another attacking player, as Barkley/Cleverley will be able to drop deep and we also have players coming through from the academy who can now get a chance.
I've not got a list of his injuries to hand but the one for Ireland that put him out for months that's sheer bad luck, nothing to do with lifestyle, like the arteta one against NewcastleI don't have an agenda against him -- this is the first time I've written anything about him. I'd also like you to point out where I called him "unprofessional".
Oviedo's been unlucky with injuries in that he's been the target of a few really terrible tackles -- all of Gibson's injuries have been non-contact. There's a huge difference.

Fair points, and if Gibson's only injury was the knee injury (and other ones resulting from it), I'd be inclined to agree. Injuries like hernias and thigh strains, though, almost always happen when someone isn't fully fit.First point: Fair enough, though it does seem that way.
Second: You implied that he 'injured himself' and would chose to go the pub over extra training. If that's your opinion, fine, but some may say that that suggests you deem him as unprofessional.
Thirdly: Gibson injured his cruciate ligament. That injury very rarely occurs in a challenge - in fact it almost always comes due to over-extension of the knee. Also, once it goes once (like a hamstring - another injury that will hardly ever occur due to a collision) it is liable to go again. There is absolutely no difference. Also I'm pretty sure that Oviedo has just recovered from a hamstring injury he picked up against Sunderland (and not during a challenge).
Can I ask where you got your medical degree from?Fair points, and if Gibson's only injury was the knee injury (and other ones resulting from it), I'd be inclined to agree. Injuries like hernias and thigh strains, though, almost always happen when someone isn't fully fit.
I might be being a bit harsh on the man. I doubt he's happy spending so much time on the sideline. I just got really thrown by "he doesn't injure himself". I thought for a moment @Walken was implying someone had gone after him with a pipe Tonya Harding style.
The same pub Gibbo's always in I'd bet...Can I ask where you got your medical degree from?
Truly Class? Behave.Gibson is a truly class player when fit. Sad day for all concerned if he slopes off on a free as now seems likely. In another day he'd have been a great player for us
