Why didn't he get anywhere near the bench at Swindon then, or Hearts, or Dundee?
Possibly because in the past there were rumours that he let "success" go a little much to his head at previous clubs. He hasn't shown any of that for us but perhaps we are keen to emphasise the message that he still needs a lot of work before he breaks into the team. he has been playing for the U21s in the winning run that they have had in preseason.

As clubs go we've been pretty good at developing well rounded players and giving them minutes when we have thought they could handle it both physically and emotionally.

He burnt his bridges at Anderlecht because he believed the hype that the Belgian press and mainly Anderlecht themselves £££££...built up about him from about the age of 14 , the next Hazard/Benteke/Lukaku.etc...etc...!He ended up with Monaco reserves before we/Olympiakos signed him and , apparently, did quite well , still highly thought of in the Low Countries , 2 footed player that can play on either wings or upfront . Sadly , in the past , he let the fame get to his head and (Allegedly) has a bad entourage of "Mates"
Arsenal and United scouted him quite a lot but Everton were the only English club to take the plunge ...hopefully he's matured a lot more as he is very highly rated by the Belgian press !
His Agent is a guy (or was) a guy called Christophe Henrotay who , hopefully , seems to have turned his life around !
This lad looks like a really really good prospect and I would love to see him make it !

Does anyone know why we signed this guy? Can't even make the bench for pre-season friendlies ahead of the likes of Connor Grant

Are you on a wind up mate ?

He's a 19 year old. Him not being on the bench for the senior team means absolutely nothing at this stage.

Me too - he seems a nice lad, was delightfully enthusiastic about signing for us and his friendship with Galloway has probably helped both players settle.

He needs some further development before he's ready formthe first team from the games I've seen him in. It could well be that the coaches decided that a preseason with the U21s who he is familiar with might be a better start for him personally before he heads out on loan and better for the U21 team itself as they struggled a little towards the end of the year. Winning all but one of their preseason games must have given all the lads involved quite a bit of confidence.
