The 'ammers; shiny new stadium, millions to spend and based in our affluent capital city yet still crap.
The phrase 'fur coat, no knickers' springs to mind.
Or 'two cars on the drive but rock all in the fridge' if you prefer.

The 'ammers; shiny new stadium, millions to spend and based in our affluent capital city yet still crap.
A shiny new stadium that is inherently flawed when it comes to an atmospheric football experience, and a group that pretty much all their fan base deplore.

For the owners, it was an offer that was far too good to turn down due to the large-capacity and rock-bottom price they can exploit, but for the fans it's a death nail.

The fans already have a huge issue with the club, the owners and the style of football, so I don't think Moyes and his actions will make them much happier.

Would have gone down like a lead bubble with the West Ham faithful that comment.

He bought a knife to shoot himself in the foot there.
Brings grenade to gunfight... proceeds to blow himself up by accidentally pull out the pin while pulling down his trousers in the toilet before it even begins!
