David Moyes - Taking a knife to a gunfight at West Ham, Part 2

Everton were somewhat limited but resilient is the word I would use under Moyes and the players actually gave a **** - since he has left we have had utter slag balls like Sigs, Schneiderlin, Mirallas, Delph, Sandra, Niasse and about a dozen more wasters take up valuable oxygen at FF.

His dedication and passion is admirable and he always does his homework on the opposition - which is more that can be said of the above lot

Doing a great job making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear at the moment. It’s making me nostalgic!
He has got his lashings and then some for binning us. I’d say never a night goes by where he doesn’t think about a time machine and waiting for the Mosh money.

So no ill will. Hope he gets his reputation back with West Ham.

He would have wasted more money than Ronko did if given that cash - if his career has proved nothing else it’s that he can only get success from motivating players who’ve been cast off / have something to prove from stepping up a level.

Buying top players was not something he did that much for us, he was a disaster with cash at United even with the players he didn’t manage to buy and no one has trusted him with big money since.

In fact, in all his years here I can only think of one relatively big money buy that was a success (Felliani), and even then you wonder whether he could have got someone better.

Bit harsh. His two big signings for United were Fellaini and Mata. Mata is still there 3 managers and 6 years later. Fellaini was useful for LVG and Mourinho until he was sold, he’s still a Belgian international now. His main target was Herrera who did eventually join and is now at PSG and he wanted Bale who presumably would have been top quality. How did he waste money at United?

At Everton his big signings were Fellaini, Yakubu, Andy Johnson, Bilyaletdinov, Mirallas, Lescott, Baines. Only Bilyaletdinov was a big let down from that lot.

I’ve always thought Moyes’ recruitment is excellent and it’s showing again now at West Ham. Soucek, Bowen, Coufal are some of their most consistent players now and they’re putting relegation battles behind them by the looks of it. He’s a very good manager in my book.

Yeah, probably This-ish...hopefully he's learned his lesson about hubris or whatever its called and will stick to the basics
But the fans and the dildo bros will get ambitious and eventually bring in a name

Bad take that. Often repeated so unsurprising, but really not a lot of truth in it. He's not the best manager in the world, but he's good. He's proving it again now.

Not really. Fellaini was key in them winning the FA and Europa cups, and Mata was one of their better performers for a number of years. Also he lined up Kroos for them, and Van Gaal scuppered the deal.

the main problem is they did not trust him with money, and Woodward missed out on his targets. The fact is, players he touted like McGinn and Ings have turned out to be big successes, and his buys at West Ham have also been excellent.

If only the ginger buffoon had managed to get Riquelme over the line!

2 home wins in a row shows how much a difference a pen missed can make/and VAR lol, 5th could be 14th at best if pens were scored the 2 games

To be fair he would have walked to Goodison to get the job back and he can obviously do well with a squad with limitations - which means he would have fit in well here.
