2024/25 David Moyes

I cant believe he's described his first time here as 'successful'.

That underlines what we always knew about him: he just doesn't get Everton.

Winning zero trophies is not success. It might be to him but it isn't to Evertonians.

No matter how many times we hear the old 'Oh Davie Moyes' song this season (hopefully a lot as it'll mean we're doing ok), this feller will never ever be one of us. He's inauthentic and always will be. An outsider who will remain an outsider.
Considering the state we where in when he first got the job he's right.....

We were perennial relegation candidates, constantly skint and wasting money on well past it big names.. ginola, gazza etc...

He came in, made us defensively sound and hard to beat.

We became the best of the rest, only behind the teams with mega money.

Many of his targets that we missed out on ended up being top players at top clubs, Essien, hazard, cech, moutinho, negredo, manolas etc

Challenging top 4/ finishing in Europe became the expectation rather than a pipe dream....

He may have failed to take the next step but he's been consistently the best manager we've had at the club since we last won the league....

Never will forget the success of Sean Dyche at Everton, where the best thing he's truly mastered is the art of lowering expectations even further make every single game feel like a 0-0 draw. Who needs trophies when you can have moral victories and a style of football so defensive it could double as a bunker? Truly, the only thing more consistent than Dyche's success is the sound of Evertonians reminiscing about the good old days of mid-table mediocrity. But hey, who needs silverware when you’ve got resilience..

Yes, but the key word being debated is success...and he didn't have any when he was here.

Whoever claimed he was a success though?

The standards were lowered by the pathetic board and owner we had. As has been stated many times here, Sean Dyche was a symptom of where we were as a club. Not the cause.

Mad that you think just a difference on attitude has you fighting for trophies when our club was on the brink of financial collapse.
