2024/25 David Moyes

Good to hear a manager want to work with the fans and not in spite of them.
No blah blah and excuses.

Not 100% convinced when appointed but hearing him talking sense, seeing that he knows there’s a job to do and that he understands the club ( and didn’t mention BK by name) I’m all in again.

He’s got grey hair but we don’t care, Davie Davie Moyes!!

He wouldn't have been on any list of mine to comeback ,the timing and situation of dyches leaving probably made the decision to bring him back and easy one for the owner's.
He's came across calm and assured and ready for the fight ahead . I wish him well I'm sure there will be more twists and turns ahead and hopefully he can keep us up and along with new owners draw a massive line in the sand as to what went on before .
If someone said to me the day he left we would end up being managed by big Sam and benitez I would have definitely thought there were stark raving mad

I’ll be honest when I heard we were back in for Moyes, I was hoping it was only till the Summer to keep us up. However seeing that press conference, I feel better in the sense, I think this job opportunity has given him the hunger to succeed again and take the team and club forward again, with the new stadium and owners. Due to the lack of finances first time around, it’s as though one of his hands was always tied behind his back.
He (like us) can see the potential again in this great club. If he can stabilise things on the pitch and in the next 2-3 windows and recruit as well as he did when first came, he knows this place can take off.

Depends how we lose....
If we get nothing but there close tight games and we give it a proper go then I can stomach it....
If we roll over, get hammered, lose with no attempts on goal trying to get a point from kickoff then I'll fume
Don't know how long you've been on the forum but the Moyse years had some classic posts. His perceived negativity was legendary.

Was trawling through teams of years gone by under Moyes, checked out the side he inherited from Smith...

If anyone thinks the squad we have now is awful/the worst ever, then check out what Moyes initially had to work with at Everton and it'll make your eyes bleed, it was a truly abysmal side.
I just checked that out. I remember it being worse, actually! Weir, Stubbs, Unsworth, Dunc, Gravesen, Carsley, Watson, Campbell and of course (albeit 16 years old) Rooney.

Most of them get into our current side. Maybe we are screwed after all.

If the owners back him with some cash for a couple of decent wide players with pace who can score and Calvert Lewin decides to actually be bothered we can move away from this easily with the defence playing the way it is.
Well, Moyes knew how to set up a defence. So, I doubt we'll lose too much from the managerial change in that department (even if Dyche preferred to have 10 defenders). Got to get DCL firing again - or else fire him out of a cannon. He's had his excuses. Now he has to show a little commitment.

When you look a forest this season decent defence like ours probably similar possession percentage but it's there pace in transition that we have badly lacked and with decent service dcl should be at least matching woods figures

They aren't very good in all honesty. Their striker has just finished his chances and that is the difference in the table. Wood has had a great campaign. DCL not so much.
