2024/25 David Moyes

Unless we make signings then he needs to go three at the back.

The only time we looked vaguely threatening was when mykolenko got the ball out wide far up the pitch.

Have no ball players in midfield, Harrison and Lindstrom add zero to the team.

It’s going to be a long end to the season.

However much you think a managerial appointment is going to either improve or diminish the quality of a team, it isn't going to happen with any significance within 4 days.
I didn't think it would happen, but people would have hoped for some sort of bounce.

We got a splat.

There was nothing there tonight that vindicated the decision to bring Moyes in. Sacking Dyche was necessary. Nobody will convince me rehiring Moyes was. I don't have the solution - but I hoped the owners had a bit of a plan. Seems like they didn't...

We did better tonight than in nearly all of our games in the last 2 years and looked like a football team. Lindstrom should've had an assist too, but DCL can't finish.

Moyes's big mistake here for me was using the exact same team that was failing for the entirety of the season. No reason to not hook Young or Harrison earlier, could've moved Ndiaye central or to the right if he wants to keep playing Harrison, but here we are. Hope he's learned a bit from this and doesn't repeat the same thing, but this is David Moyes after all.

No doubt Villa are a better side than us so I'm not going to get hysterical about a 1-0 loss.

He's going to have to change that side with some signings though. Somebody who can take a set piece needs to be playing, somebody who can finish and somebody who can offer something from the right.
