He has been here a couple of days and he has seen what this lot are about.
We had a bit of a go.
It will take a while to get his mark on this lot they have no confidence at all.
Certainly need at least 3 players.

The having a go bit wasn't a surprise. New manager, first proper game, everyone up for it.

But I'm pretty sure there's no one remotely surprised with individual performances. Each one did what they've done for years/games but pressed a bit more...which Dyche completely removed from the side since Bournemouth and Villa.

Got it all wrong tonight from the very start and cannot repeat that when we desperately need to win games, especially at home. We can never see Doucoure, Young and Harrison starting together again, yet very obviously will.

Right back is a priority too...before any central midfielder

Our midfield is far to slow and haven’t got the ability to pass or open play up. We aren’t gonna create goals/chances with that midfield or wingers. Seriously need pace in the middle and someone who can open play up. We’ve got 3 right backs and that’s not an issue right now.

We had a bit of intent about us tonight, but Villa were better in every single position... fair result.. although the pen denials were appalling... as was DCL's miss

We have just played the team unfinished 4th last season and are aiming to be minimum top 6 again this season. And we created as much as they did and only conceded due to a sloppy mistake.

We could and maybe should have had something out of that game (considering the pen denials). He has had a few days with the team that’s bereft of confidence.

This team is better than where it’s at. Think it’s crazy to think he couldn’t get us 14th or better (ie mid table) plus in a full season.

Needed something fresh tonight, even just a few changes - Patterson, Armstrong.

The fans realised a few mins in it was the usual dross and any feel good factor was gone.

Really surprised by his team selection. I'd have expected that if you'd come from Botafogo and not watched any Everton game, so thought "maybe keep it quite similar".

That team selection was lazy and with very little thought put into it. He didn't read the room at all with some of those selections tonight.

Really poor.

Going to need to be demanding signings from Mr Conk and sharpish

The squad is crap. The trick is to make the first team less crap by not picking the ones who are 100% massively crapper than the other crap.

Midfielder need overlapping runs from quality full backs in order to thrive...mangala, garner and tim are all very good midfielders...we need movement around them including the full backs

It was a bit more positive and at least we gave it a go.

His mistake was his team selection. An attacking unit with Calvert-Lewin, Harrison and Doucoure will not score goals.
