I agree that was a very rare good performance from Everton under Dyche, however only once it went 4-0 did i feel a bit more relaxed in that game.We battered a much better Brighton team than that lot two seasons ago 5-1 down there and played them off the park and shell shocked those Brighton divvies into silence. Two years later under Moyes they're booing them off the pitch for spoiling a game of football.
Let's not re-write history too much...
Good post, Moyes himself, from his comments, clearly realises his job is safety, stability and to put in place proper foundations for long term improvement. That will not happen in 6 to 12 months given the trainwreck of the past 20 years plus.We all know, Moyes won't make another 11 years.
The more I think about it was a smart decision to bring in him for the moment, as he's not a 180 degree turn in style of football of Dyche, but seems able to find the tweaks in a short time that Dyche couldn't find anymore, despite a pretty stretched squad and almost same line up.
He needs to deliver results at first. The owners will have to question whether it's smart to change a manager to bring in someone that suits their vision and philosophy more, while also changing about half of the squad. It's a task that shouldn't be underestimated, and something I trust in Moyes that he can rebuild it.
When we got beat by Villa, the fans of the clubs around us would have been buzzing, looked at our next two games and said, thatās that then, EFC arenāt getting a new manager bounce. To take 6 points from them two difficult games has been a game changer, letās be honest, if we supporter Ipswich, Wolves or Leicester now we would be saying āforget about them now, they are safe.āHaven't had an easy run of games since Arsenal and knowing the form and situation, we could have ended in the relegation zone before Leicester easily. At least 6 points, probably even 7 points ahead is a satisfying feeling.
Guess what tho, we got 3 points for both games. We battered a much better Brighton team than that lot two seasons ago 5-1 down there and played them off the park and shell shocked those Brighton divvies into silence. Two years later under Moyes they're booing them off the pitch for spoiling a game of football.

Heās just a better manager.Credit where itās due , a couple of massive wins and could easily have got a draw against villa . We look so much better since his arrival , part of that is how much Dyche was struggling but Moyes has done very well to get a tune out of them

I'm inside the car silly. You or the monkey?![]()
I doubt anyone would care if Dyche did it to grind out a win. And itās not like the Spurs game was a negative performance.Perception is an interesting thing isn't it, I'm not necessarily criticsing Davey as id be known as one of his biggest fan boys on here historically and cotemporally, but there are times we have gone to a back five or even a back 6 in the last couple of games.
Imagine if Dyche had done that.
Interesting just to compare and contrast perception and attitudes.
Im not saying that to start who is the better manager thing - i personally think Moyes is one the greatest PL manager of all time, just behind Ferguson and Wenger. He is a better manager then Dyche to be clear.
Tbh mate Im not in the business of debating who is a better manger - probably Moyes given his record - as the styles are pretty much from the same 'stable' as it were.Guess what tho, we got 3 points for both games.
How mad is that.
Meanwhile, our win against Spurs was our first league win at Goodison for 12 years.
Ultimately itās about winning football matches , everything looks better with 3 points sorted . Arsenal won the league under Graham with a solid defensive football ideal and the fans lapped it up . When youāre losing , if youāve got to lose , Iād rather have a few moments of joy in the 90 mins .Perception is an interesting thing isn't it, I'm not necessarily criticsing Davey as id be known as one of his biggest fan boys on here historically and cotemporally, but there are times we have gone to a back five or even a back 6 in the last couple of games.

Sound, but hes Everton manager now, so you either hope Everton get beat or you support the team, which means you support the manager.Tbh mate Im not in the business of debating who is a better manger - probably Moyes given his record - as the styles are pretty much from the same 'stable' as it were.
My rage over Moyes is not football related so much as legacy related.
A man who has attacked the club after he was treated as a hero first time round and someone who snubbed a man most people regard as the biggest Everton legend of all time is not for me.
A lot of (probably most) people a few years back felt that way and wouldn't hand that feller anything other than scorn. It seems some or mostly all of them are now prepared to let all that go out of fear of relegation.
Count me out of that.
Never forget, never forgive is my maxim regarding that ginger ferret.

As regards the football there was a visible difference in what we saw versus spurs and say Fulham at home or Brighton in the reverse fixture .

Anyone who expects 90 minutes of attacking is naive.
