2024/25 David Moyes

What? Ange is the worst thing to hit London since the Luftwaffe!
My only regret with Ange is we no longer have that utter aching ballsack Spurs fan h.h. on here to laugh at.

Edit, actually, did he benefit from the great GOT ban amnesty last year? @H.H. get in here and try to smug your way out of Ange!

He's a good manager, not a great manager, he'll have Everton competing in games that Dyche and Lampard wouldn't. I don't think it's fair to judge him on lack of trophies during during his spell. Spurs managers at similar time spent more in 1 window, than he spent in 5 years. He nearly won at Arsenal and Chelsea, his lack on wins there reflects that time. However I feel, with regards to my previous argument with people on here, that Friedkins are far less sympathetic than Kenwright. Despite my previous argument with @Eggs, I think Moyes is a good manager, I just think that with BMD, that expections will grow and mistakes that don't matter this season, will be not forgotten by Friedkins. Moyes could easily get us to Brentford or Fulhams position next season, but for fans who want him to what Neville Southall wants at Everton, you'll be dissaponted. He's a good manager, but if you want us winning trophies, I'm not sure he's your man.

Moyes can achieve what he did with West Ham and more here. He’s very experienced and will be looking to win a trophy for Everton before he retires.

He’s here for a couple more years and, whichever players he ditches, whichever players he offers new contracts to, and whichever players he signs… we’ll be comfortably mid-table (perhaps peeking upwards) in both.

Then someone better comes in.

Stabilise the club for a couple of years. That’s all he’s here to do. All the stuff about actually competing in the next couple of years is, IMO, way ahead of schedule.

Sure, Forest, but that’s an aberration. Everyone stayed fit, everyone had the season of their lives, and everything (up to this point at least) has fallen for them. You can’t plan for that - it’s just the product of everything working out. Which is incredibly rare. It’d be GREAT, but I wouldn’t stake anything on it.

Not necessarily. Results as always, will dictate that. If things go wrong which is always a possibility, he won’t see out the season. That’s why you don’t let managers dictate the transfer market. He could spend a shed load of money in the summer on players to fit his system, only to be sacked before Christmas meaning another manager will be left with his players that he may not want. Makes zero sense.

Don’t think things will go wrong under Moyes, but it won’t get much better than we have sen so far (regardless of what is spent on the team in the summer)
Test will be if that’s satisfactory for the new owners or not.

With decent recruitment and as sad as it it we should be looking to overhaul the likes of palace Fulham Bournemouth Brentford next season and at least competing with Europa league positions

No problem moyes being part of the recruitment process but him having all the say would be madness

You can see already in this thread the power of the Moyes expectation management.

He's come back here for 5 minutes and he's had most people off again.

"Plucky little Everton...I'll keep you safe...get to 40 points ASAP...knives to gunfights..."

We'll have a state-of-the-art stadium and a state-of-that manager.

Have you been saving that one up dave 😂

STATE OF THAT MANAGER????

Moyes' warm-ups involve the entire squad learning to knit scarves... for team bonding, apparently. If you can't perfectly purl and Everton blue and white pattern, you're doing extra laps.

His tactical drills are rumored to be based on ancient Scottish battle formations. Think fewer tiki-taka triangles and more disciplined shield walls advancing slowly up the pitch. The secret weapon? A well-timed bagpipe blast to disorient the opposition.

Forget crossing practice; under Moyes, it's all about perfecting the "Glasgow Kiss" corner routine – a subtle (or not-so-subtle) headbutt delivered while jostling for position. Referees are still trying to figure out the rule on that one.

Strength training involves caber tossing. Each player has to hurl a progressively larger log across the training pitch. Those who fail are forced to wear a kilt for the rest of the week... regardless of the weather.

Cool-downs consist of a mandatory sing-along of traditional folk songs, with marks deducted for incorrect lyrics or a lack of passionate bellowing. Apparently, a strong vocal performance directly correlates with stamina in the 85th minute.

And don't even get started on the dietary regime. Haggis smoothies before every match are non-negotiable, and anyone caught sneaking a protein bar is forced to eat a week's worth of neeps and tatties.

The man is an innovator Dave. How can you call him state of that? NOW PACK IT IN WITH THE NEGATIVITY!

It was only 5 months ago you was saying our previous manager was doing all he can with the tools he had.

Now someone has come in and shown him for what he is/was/and always has been, youre slating Moyes for maximizing the squad he has.

Unless we bring in a born winner then Moyes shouldnt be replaced, he has more than earned another crack at it here.

Look at Amorim for example, absolutely ripping the Portuguese league up playing great football, comes here and they look far worse than what Ten Hag and Ole served up.

Every appointment is a risk nowadays and with us just getting some breathing space after about 4 years, im not sure we would take that risk.
