Davide Ancelotti

Duncan has more managerial experience than Davide, who's father also rated Duncan highly as a coach and wanted him to join his coaching team at Madrid. But for many, including myself, he wasn't worth considering. He needed to cut his teeth elsewhere first.

It really is the exotic names people are seduced by.

Of all candidates mentioned he represents the biggest risk at this time. Has to be a non-starter.

We had a crap defence and within a short period of time he managed to fix it and this was with Keane and co. just imagine what he could do with Tarkowski and Coady.

I sort of agree but at the same time I don’t think there’s a guaranteed alternative for success. I like each of the options for different reasons, Bielsa could be a great shorter term option but could be a disaster, Dyche could be safe but too safe and might not get us the points required to stay up all while playing unattractive football and Davide has no experience but has massive potential.

If we were to go down I’d probably prefer to have someone like Ancelotti who can stay with the club and rebuild right back to the Premier League, I also think Bielsa could do this but again he’s a headcase that could blow up at any point.

Basically I just want a long term option that actually have potential, I think Ancelotti is probably one of the first managers that we’ve been linked to since Moyes where they’re entirely unproven but at the same time have massive potential. Feels like everyone we’ve ever gone for is either a “has been” or “never was” or generally just the flavours of the month, we never go for the unknown with massive upside.
I don’t think we can really say whether he has massive potential or not can we? As with pretty much all back room staff, we have no idea what he actually does or how well he does it.

Some say he’s had a hands on approach to all his dads teams. It a massive risk but it’s also a relatively unknown. He could actually be very good!

I’d rather actually know this from seeing him run a side. All anyone seems to tell me is defending set pieces but I’m pretty sure we need to score goals to survive this season.

He's not a failure because he hasn't even tested himself out managing an u5 side Zat. We have 18 games left of a season with a squad who will down tools within a second of an opportunity arising.

Do you think they'll take orders from a 32 year old fella whose main responsibility in life has been to follow his dad around the globe?

If i had a total nutjob like Bielsa...or a mess like Dyche or a young kid with innovative ideals who's been at the top clubs working for his dad one of the greatest ever managers

Im confident id go all in on the Italian.

Now this is what you call hipster

lol

How did Duncan reply to Ancelott’s offer of a coaching job at Real Madrid? Was he waiting for Forest Green to offer him the manager’s job?

He comes across as a likeable young lad, but he’s younger than some of our players and has never been a manager before.

Who in their right mind would appoint a boy like that to guide a side like ours to safety?
