Confirmed Signing Davy Klaassen

A lot of positions? Do tell.

The housestyle of Ajax is 4-3-3 and in that system Davy plays as right half. But he can also play closevbehind the center forward. And a few times Frank de Boer realy positioned Davy as no. 9 (CF)
But he can also play on the no. 6 position (defensive midfielder). He is quite multi functional. In my earlier posting I said his passing is rather weak but his combination play is good. (one-two)

Thing I worry about with Klassen is that other than scoring goals and working hard he doesn't seem to offer much creatively, despite getting a fair few assists in Holland.

If he can't replicate his goalscoring in the premier league it'd seem we're signing a hard working player for somewhere around £25m.

I'm not sure what to make of him now. When we were first linked I was happy, but his shooting doesn't actually look all that amazing, although his movement does look good.

All about wether he can make the step up.

Not sure.

14 goals and 10 assists and working hard for the teams cause, I don't think you can argue with that. He must offer something creatively to get double figures in assists. 24 goals and assists combined in 33 games is superb.

We've already had one too many.

After full 2 days since registering here I became aware Davek is a proper tit. Two posts were enough.

IDK what kind of problems he has but I wish him all the best.
oh u have been here before buster of that i have zero doubt. my best guess at the moment is @EverBlue86 and assorted other banned usernames. just know i am watching punk **swings between skyscrapers and webs passing fraudster**

Based on my 10 minutes of watching YouTube videos, he looks like a Naismith/Cahill type attacking midfielder who gets about 10 goals a season from behind the striker.

Short passes, good movement, in the right areas. Doesn't appear to carry the ball, dribble or play creative through balls.

Who else would you say he plays similar to?
On a serious note I think he is supposed to have a bit of a defensive side to his game and probably will pass more accurately than Naismith

I cant stand these types of players, selfishly & freely scoring goals and running hard - its unfair on the rest of the team! :-)

I'm all for this signing he's a good player. But my only problem is the lack of creativity and killer pass. Neither Schneiderlin nor Gueye have that in their locker either so it's just adding another.

Wouldn't it have been better to spend that money on a central midfielder (playmaker) who IS creative and can thread a ball through the eye of a needle?

We don't seem to have one of those. You can add Davies, Besic and McCarthy to that too, all very similar styles but none can be classed as a playmaker from the middle of the park.

From the few times I have seen him seems to offer something we have been missing since Pienarr was on form , a hard working player who can knit the midfield and attack together with , work rate, short passing, and decent movement.
not sure how we are going to line up in midfield.
