Confirmed Signing Davy Klaassen

He was anonymous and a poor leader in the biggest game of his career.

Regardless of that game he was also poor in the QF second leg and SF second leg against Schalke and Lyon respectively.

He's from a league where they only play four meaningful games each season against Feyenoord and PSV. I would give a very wide berth to anyone from that league.

I know that Suarez, Van Dijk and Van Nistlerooy were all terrible buys weren't they

Please refrain from the bubbles talking please.....

The Dutch league might be poor but i think Ajax have a fine tradition of producing quality players. In other words i want Klassen and i want him now!

It really is a terrible league though. Look at the 10th goal on that list (first in the video) - the centre-half inexplicably moves to his left and leaves an open space; that wouldn't happen in England against any team in the league.

Certain players stand out in terrible leagues (I had no doubts of Van Dijk's quality at Celtic for example), but not sure if Klaasen is of that quality.

That said, he's worth a punt. £20m is the new £10m.

For every one of them, there's a dozen Afonso Alves though.

He's not wrong in just how bad that league is. It's not really much of a step above Scotland.

A certain Mr Bergkamp as well,
Up there with the best that's played in this division.
You really can't judge any player until he settles in,we could sign Ronaldo and people would still complain.

Watched him quite a few times this season, has an excellent footballing brain, sees opportunity fast, and can pass the ball

Don't believe this is much of a risk mate.....

I've seen him a few times too - thought he was OK, hoped he'd make the step up in the Europa League final against United but, worryingly, he was anonymous, which is a bad sign.

I'd be very worried if he was our "statement" signing, but I don't believe he is. I think he's a good punt as a squad option with the hope he can be much more.

Do you realize how many of the worlds best players have come from that league?

Afonso Alves, Marco Boogers, Mateja Kezman, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Jozy Altidore and Brett Holman say hi.

I don't believe they did actually?

This guy I believe is a good footballer and will fit in well on what we are looking to achieve

By the way, Brett Holman was an Aussie wasn't he, sure he frequents Cheers Bar on George Street in Sydney

Of course I do, over many years. Stam, Zenden, Robben, Bergkamp, Van Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink, Davids just off the top of my head, all plied their trade here.

But the point is for every one of them, there's a load more of absolute Boogers.
