Confirmed Signing Davy Klaassen

I've seen him a few times too - thought he was OK, hoped he'd make the step up in the Europa League final against United but, worryingly, he was anonymous, which is a bad sign.

I'd be very worried if he was our "statement" signing, but I don't believe he is. I think he's a good punt as a squad option with the hope he can be much more.

Don't believe he is the statement signing either just offers something that we don't have

With Rom leaving that's where the statement signing should be

I don't believe they did actually?

This guy I believe is a good footballer and will fit in well on what we are looking to achieve

By the way, Brett Holman was an Aussie wasn't he, sure he frequents Cheers Bar on George Street in Sydney

They all came from the Dutch league and did crap mate.

Of course I do, over many years. Stam, Zenden, Robben, Bergkamp, Van Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink, Davids just off the top of my head, all plied their trade here.

But the point is for every one of them, there's a load more of absolute Boogers.

Tons more than that, there is crud in every league.
The talent that league produces, it shouldn't be compared to the SPL or misjudged.

Can understand your thoughts but let's have a bit of faith in the man who is putting the team together

Don't know about you but all that happens lately is that a player is mentioned and there are about five "swerve" comments within 10 minutes

We all need a bit of confidence is Walsh and his team

Those players came through when the standard of dutch football was a lot better too.

But i just want signings and lots of them so get it done !

It really is a terrible league though. Look at the 10th goal on that list (first in the video) - the centre-half inexplicably moves to his left and leaves an open space; that wouldn't happen in England against any team in the league.

Certain players stand out in terrible leagues (I had no doubts of Van Dijk's quality at Celtic for example), but not sure if Klaasen is of that quality.

That said, he's worth a punt. £20m is the new £10m.
Of course it would happen in this league! We did it loads last season :)

Nah, that's not true. Look at the Sandro comments, everyone is excited about him.

It's hardly the reaction that Bolasie and his £28m got

I disagree. It's a terrible league that hosts a talented nation of footballers, so the OK ones they produce can be made to look like Football Jesus because the standards are so low.

Another example - Luuk De Jong. Was rated as one of the top talents in football, went to Newcastle, did the square sum of nothing, then returned and resumed scoring 2 in 3 over there.

The similarity with Scotland is striking. Kris Boyd was their Alan Shearer at Rangers, but went to Boro and did absolutely nothing of note. The argument isn't really whether Eredivisie is like the SPL; it's just which one is the worst. It's probably the SPL yeah but there's not much between them.

Hey, i'll give every player we sign the support. The point here being that quite a few players have come from that league and been woeful. The opposite is of course true too. Let's hope this guy goes that way if we get him.

And the Dutch national team is real bad these days too.

Dirk Kuyt rattling in 20 a season at 36.

That's all that needs to be said.
