Rather have van de Beek myself but I like this lad.

Of course. But the fee then becomes the issue. By all means grab players from smaller leagues and lower divisions, but dont get ripped off in the process.
That's why he was subbed in that game Dave -he looked totally outclassed! As has been said, that's not what he said at all mate. He did the exact reverse of that: allowed Pogba to take up the vacuum left by Klaassen when the latter wandered off.
In other words: Mourinho felt the threat from Klaassen was not worth snuffing out and that he'd come unstuck against a wall of defensive players. Now that is something he'd be tasked with doing if he ever came here: break down a bank of deep sitting DMFs and a back four.
We need someone a bit more cuter on the ball to break open defences.
Klaassen looks the typical jack of all trades master of none to me: adequate in all departments but doesn't have the engine or pace for a box to box MF; not really a player who sits and holds; not a classical No.10.
Pack it in you absolute WUM.
great , but who is heading out?????Welcome Davy! Mid June and already looks like we've bagged Pickford and Klaassen for 55ish million.
Good start happy days!
How it's structured is not for this thread.I see the cash being spent now as deductions off the fee likely already agreed for Lukaku. Pickford + Klaassen = circa £57M. Subtract that from, say, £80M for Lukaku.
We'll get a few quid more to play with if we sell all those deemed surplus to requirements, especially if Barkley leaves. But we have to count the pennies. We will have a very low net spend, IMO.
I go on another footy forum mostly which is made up of fans from different clubs. There's an Ajax season ticket holder I finally caught up with to ask him about Klassen. This lad is a good judge imo. He rates him highly and thinks we'll love him. When I asked him what Prem player would you most like him to he said this
"A bit like Lampard. Good eye for goal, especially when arriving late into the box. Great leader and competitor."
Lol.
But then he changed his mind a bit and said this
"clearly not as good, a poor man's Lampard
Personally I'm not his biggest fan, but he's always produced for us, and is a very good player. But I'd rather lose him than Ziyech, and it gives opportunities to the likes of Nouri, de Jong etc..
Anyway he still sounds good.
Remains to be seen. Other than Rom though, nobody I'd assume the manager would be sad to see leave.great , but who is heading out?????
being sold etc!
Schneiderlin Guyue Klassen in a 443 or a 352 depending on who we buy. Still plenty of games for Davies too.The most comparable player to Klaassen I can think of currently playing in the Prem is Ramsey in terms of how Ramsey has that knack of popping up in and around the area, getting goals and assists.
I wouldn't count either as 'creative', but they're both adept at finding and creating space, which leads to chances for themselves and others.
It's something we really lack in terms of goals from midfield. As I've mentioned previously, I reckon this is what Koeman's idea of our 'midfield' currently is:
- Schneiderlin
- Barry
- Davies
- Gueye
- McCarthy
- Besic
Throw Klaassen in and that's seven players (as it stands) for three positions. I reckon we can safely say one, if not two, will be moved on though.
That's not including Barkley, who based on where he has been at his best last season and Koeman's comments in the past, will be classed as a forward.
