I see the cash being spent now as deductions off the fee likely already agreed for Lukaku. Pickford + Klaassen = circa £57M. Subtract that from, say, £80M for Lukaku.I think we have to disregard fees as a factor for a bit - firstly we have (supposedly) a bit of money so we'll be overcharged for a bit, and also with all the cash in the game, valuations are still not settling from the billions in cash flying about.
Look at Tim Cahill - no prem experience, but was a belter. If we'd have paid serious money for him he'd still have been a good signing.
Of course. But the fee then becomes the issue. By all means grab players from smaller leagues and lower divisions, but dont get ripped off in the process.
Stop lying, he never said that at all.

We'll get a few quid more to play with if we sell all those deemed surplus to requirements, especially if Barkley leaves. But we have to count the pennies. We will have a very low net spend, IMO.
I agree.
Lukaku fee with Chelsea has been agreed and they are allowing us to get our deals done before announcing it.
Stops us getting fleeced.

Already been pointed out but we got Cahill from milwall, pienaar couldn't get a game in Germany, Coleman came from Sligo, and Lukaku originally came from the Belgian league.
Give the lad a chance
