De Zerbi Leaves Brighton

Its also a product of how uncompetitive football has become, Brighton are sold as an incredible success story for a few top ten finishes and they have obvioulsy spent time and resources puuting the systems into place to give them the best chance for success. But is there really a possibility of them going further and winning trophies? Not really, they will have their bones pick by sides favoured by FFP or wealthy enough to ignore FFP and despite have a great system in place it will be put under enormous pressure to produce almost immediate results transfer wise just to tread water

I'd argue they would of been in for a shout of top 4 this year if they had kept some of the players they sold on to the head patters!

Sanchez
Lamptey
Dunk
Centre back?
Estipunan
Mac Allister
Caicedo
Bissouma
Trossard
Gyokores
Mitoma

Would of given Villa a run for there money this season.
I suppose the fans will be happy though, as long as people on the Saturday Social keep telling them how well ran they are!

They would have had to increase their wages to keep them from going to big clubs, and then would've put themselves under pressure with ffp and needing instant success. After everything that club has been through, I doubt they're willing to take that risk. And even if a bad managerial appointment takes them down, they'll be in a good position to come back up. They've only been a top flight club for 6 years so you have to look long term IMO

If you spend all your time planning for Sunday dinner, you will be starving by Wednesday!

brighton remind me a bit of southampton

southampton did really well in the prem when they had mane, tadic, lallana, van dijk, luke shaw, alderweireld, schneiderlin, ward prowse etc

they got asset stripped over the years, failed to replace them adequately and then eventually got relegated

They only need to add a central midfieler or 2 this summer and they're fine. Defence and attack both look well stocked
