Second season in a row we've been in a solid position in the table, chasing European football. Season season in a row we've been told there is money to spend. Second season in a row we've been told to wait until the Summer. Second season in a row we've slipped down the table as a result.

No fit striker in the team, Leon Osman starting games. Would any other team with top 4 aspirations be happy with that ?

The worst thing is it was so predictable, and so preventable.

Spot on. Plenty of us called it in December.

Either Martinez is beyond stupid for not spending the money or Kenwright's filling us all with lies about the pot of gold being there.

Martinez has dropped the ball big style. Naive against the [Phrase removed] and spuds, not getting a forward in, signing Kone.

No Europe again it seem. 8th place written all over us.

Worryingly, Martinez began the same old Kenwright Yes Man routine in January. It was clear exactly what was needed in that window, and while I don't want to call Martinez a liar... I refuse to believe an intelligent man like that looked at the situation and thought we were exiting that window as strong as we could have been.

We've been let down yet again when the chance to push on was right there. We were a striker and holding mid away from serious contention for Champions League football, but now the season is effectively over and we're looking at 7th.

I really can't fathom why he'd wait until the summer to spend the money. We were in a brilliant position, there's definitely no guarantee we can replicate that next time as others strengthen.

With our squad that would be good, because next season we will have collapsed by december with Europa league commitments

So many of us saw it coming. An exact replica of last season.

At best it's naivety to think what we have is good enough to compete at the top, but I think it comes down to a real lack of ambition to see this club progress. We stand still whilst others push on, it's always been the case.

Because according to some on here, the right players weren't available so left it till summer to spend what little money we had.

Which even if its true (which is unlikely that one of the top teams in the prem couldn't attract the "right players" from the whole world) begs the question how pathetic is it that said top team have to make a decision between buying players in Jan and in Summer.

Same old crap, same old excuses will be trotted out and we'll continue to bang our heads on that ceiling.

For those moaning about Osman he was good today and was only denied a goal by a brilliant save by the flying frog. Barkley who everyone says should play instead was utter garbage when he came on.

The right players won't be available in the summer either because it's world cup year. As you say, it's excuse after excuse.

We've got our work cut out replacing the loan signings in the summer, that's before we've even thought about strengthening.

Kenwright doesnt drop barkley and keep Gerard, mcgready and traore on the bench and play osman who consistently shows he isnt good enough and naismith who before he scored a goal!!! Against aston villa!!!! Was not good enough for a top half side.

martinez has done us over good style,

palace, spurs, sunderland and now spurs again STOP DROPPING PLAYERS FOR FANBOY OSMAN

"bububub...the players you get in January cost money!"

so you were fine with Osman sitting on the fn pitch for 10+ seconds while the ball was still in play?

We brought a striker in, our midfield was fine, we'll get better from here on in, we dominated at Spurs, we should of had a penalty right near the end, it's dubious whether the incident leading up to Spurs goal was even a free-kick, we had more shots on target than they did, more chances, more possession, more everything except the goal. We are better than Spurs and will finish above them. 5 points off fourth, we'll be a force for the rest of the season.
