Salary, £100k a week for 2.5 years. How can it be £12.5 million if he never plays when the reported deal is no money to be paid until he plays 20 games and then it’s £10 million?
If he never plays we still pay it.

He's a 'name' player. It’s staggering how many posts Alli has produced in just a couple of days. Compare against the number for our new manager or even DCL (more I agree but a much longer timescale)……..

Personally I think Dele still has it, played well the few times I’ve seen him.
Interesting comments from Simon Jordan on Talksport about the deal. It’s almost a gamble from both sides, which does strike me as concerning. Tottenham would know exactly what’s wrong with Dele and happy to let him go for free or close to free $10-20m. But also wanted something from him if he did well. Sounds like they’re the ones getting the better end of the deal. Dele has to play better than 40m otherwise Everton lose out. Is he a 40m rated player? Not at the moment, he was before. If he plays like a 10m player both sides lost out.
Daniel Levy actually is a smart operator. And Farhad has only shown how to blow a 500m hole in his wallet.
He's a 'name' player.
Benitez and Carlo got an absurd number of posts by virtue of being 'name' managers.
Just how this works.
Peter Reid?Any examples of players having great early career, tailing off, then coming back strongly?
Peter Reid was never considered a bad player, just a bad sicknote.Peter Reid?
Yeah fair enough. But he was considered a huge gamble at the time. Turned out he was one of the best we ever had. Not that I have the same expectations of Alli. If I had to bet, I think it probably won't work out, but you never know.Peter Reid was never considered a bad player, just a bad sicknote.
I thought @neil999 made a very good and worrying point, cant think of anybody that fell off badly and came back as strong.Yeah fair enough. But he was considered a huge gamble at the time. As sure theres examples there, but lets hope we can use Dele in a few years as an example.
He seems like he needs a manager who is positive and can identify with him.I know we only signed him cos he's fell off a cliff, but I'm quite excited about this signing, if we can get him firing he's 1 hell of a player.
Luke Shaw at Utd.I thought @neil999 made a very good and worrying point, cant think of anybody that fell off badly and came back as strong.
