Lampard looks far more the "arms around the shoulder" type than the "pretend you don't exist" like Moon Face Koeman.

I think that is what Dele needs. He'll be great for us.

The good news is he is like this when it comes to the youth players he promotes (Mount, Reece James)
The bad news is he's absolutely Koeman when it comes to talented senior players who speak up (Rudinger, Alonso)

I imagine Digne would have equally been sent training elsewhere if he went to Lampard with his powerpoint presentation of personal stats

True, but when the going gets tough (if not this season then next), we need to hope Lampard will have learned from his mistakes. I mean, he tried to freeze out and sell Rudiger? Madness.

Regarding his Rolls Royce, if I had more money than I could spend, I would also spunk it on massively material things such as £500k pound cars and mansions around the world. Dele needs to work for about 2 months to afford a Roller at that value (approximate wage after tax); the working-class man would need to work about 30 years, providing he didn't spend a penny of his salary on literally anything else.

did that actually happen? I heard rumblings that he didnt care about the team losing but was bothered by his own stats

Worryingly for me, a lot of his goals came via exquisite long 60-yard passes from Alderweireld at Spurs.

Who is going to provide such assists for us? Keane can't even complete a simple 10-yard-along-the-floor pass to a team mate most of the time, while neither Holgate nor Mina or Godfrey are known for their vision or ability to dink the ball over the top.

We don't have players who can unlock defences which could be disastrous in our relegation fight, and we'll really be relying on Gray now to find Alli with his final ball.

It’s hit or miss but Pickford is more than capable of a defence splitting long ball and for the two or three that’ll go out for a throw it’ll be worth it for the one that finds Dele in space!
