He’s actually been alright when I’ve seen him.

I remember us signing Gary Speed - he’d burst on the scene at Leeds but had lost his way and was going stale. We signed him and he was completely rejuvenated.

We’ll know fairly early doors if we want to keep him on, seems a pet project for Lampard and I’m all for it at the figures being banded about.

But, VDB cant play that role, very strange. He is attacking, just cant see him in the middle as a 2.

Watched him playing for Spurs not long ago, working hard and getting in to good positions, but his finishing was all over the place.

I think he is a Cahill like player that is better suited to playing behind the striker and being a goal threat. Hopefully he can get his form and confidence (or interest if that's the issue) and score goals for us
