Just reading this thread, it doesn’t appear people have watched him much in the last few years. He’s had fewer good games than Gbamin has had appearances.

He’s actually been alright when I’ve seen him.

I remember us signing Gary Speed - he’d burst on the scene at Leeds but had lost his way and was going stale. We signed him and he was completely rejuvenated.

4-3-3 which can transition into a 4-5-1 when defending. I reckon we'll see VDB in a deeper role like he played at Ajax for a bit.

The fact that he is willing to get out of London and give himself a fresh start is a good indication already. If he had no desire to play football he could easily stay where he is and collect his wages. He must know Lampard won’t give him an easy ride and he’s at least willing to take the challenge.

Didn't want him but the terms of the deal don't sound bad at all, well worth a gamble . I thought the club would panic and put down 20 million. Seems like that new transfer director at Spurs is clueless too btw
