Just hope Lampard can get that fire back in his belly and Alli starts enjoying footy again. If so we will have a cracking player. The fans could also play a part with encouragement and make him feel special

33m max my friend. But yeah understand with the 2 1/2. If he does well, then Lampard is doing well. Both will get extensions. If he doesn’t do well then we don’t pay near 33m at all and therefore not making a loss.

It’s a good deal for all parties

- we don’t commit to paying 33m off the bat but if we do then we are doing much better.
- spurs get rid of wages and if dele reaches his potential then they get a good fee
- alli gets a change of scenery under a manager who will have faith in him.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Lets hope both Lampard and Alli realise their potential and are here for years to come.

Then again he could be Rooney in his part 2 man u career, bagging 300k a week being a man un striker whilst not scoring a hattrick for years and years.

I guess we will find out soon enough what is what.

If he is even close to being as good as Rooney in part 2 of his man utd career he would still be worth £40million. If he gets to being as good as Dele was at his peak then he will be worth more than double that fee. It's a gamble but not a completely reckless one. Everyone knows he has the ability it's about whether he can get in the right space mentally.

I have reservations about him and Van de Beek, but I hope they somehow prove me wrong.

Van die Beek will play as an 8/box to box at least whilst Doucoure is out. Plus he's only here till the summer. Front 3 of Richy right, DCL central and Gray left with Alli as a 10. Allan at 6, VdB 8.

But possibly on the flip side, he plays 2 seasons, does great. We hand over £40 million to Spurs, Delli doesn’t sign a new deal so he can go to a CL club (if it works out) and we’ve just payed £40 million for somebody who’s left us on a free

It's one of those transfers than can go either way. It could be really good or really bad. He has enormous ability and a great knack for being in the right place, but we've not seen it for a while. I have no idea if he can get back to that level, but he's a top player if he can.

man u could pay 300k a week no problem without Rooney scoring 46 pm goals a season a la Ronaldo did on likewise wages. Can we afford another James situation with Alli on 150k a week?

Putting Alli in a pivotal role in his current form is a bit...well, reckless? Crazy some might say. I find it all a lot of wishful thinking.

One thing he has is that ability to time his runs into the box to get on the end of things, like Lampard or Cahill. he needs to show more than that all round though but that is a skill in itself.

Its about the potential of the player mate for me, he seems someone who needs to have that manager who is fully behind him, and really this is the first time since Pocch he has that.

The Alli of 22 talent wise but with the experience of having crashed before getting it back, for me that's why it's exciting.

It may not happen, but by God it's good to at least have a player who could. (Same way Gray has been the second best thing this season after Gordon)
