Confirmed Signing Dele Alli

I am sure that some of the bonuses will be linked to Dele playing for England as well. International caps is a clause that often goes into contracts as it implies the player is performing well and also market value is higher for an England international. Dele Alli in the form that saw him play for England in the past is a steal at £40 million but there are lot's of questions over whether he can recapture that kind of form.
Always just thought he is a prima donna who thinks he is way better than he is, with stupid hair.

He’s been rubbish for as long as fans have been in stadiums.
Nah that’s not true. He’s been rubbish SINCE fans were BACK in stadiums, but there were periods before covid that he was good.

Can’t remember if it was immediately before or after he got sparked in that game a few years back, he was in excellent form for a good while.

I'm curious as for what the specific details for this deal are. Initial free transfer, rising to £10m after 20 matches, with potential of reaching £40. Strangest for me is the length of his contract, only 2,5 years. So if he reaches all these stipulations within this time, we're potentially ending up paying £40m to Spurs and losing him on a free over a 30 months contract. That for me provides a big risk.

But hey, maybe I'm seeing it wrong and there are also stipulations over how long he has to be here (sign a contract extension).

For now welcome Dele Alli, hopefully Lampard can bring the best back out of you.
33m max my friend. But yeah understand with the 2 1/2. If he does well, then Lampard is doing well. Both will get extensions. If he doesn’t do well then we don’t pay near 33m at all and therefore not making a loss.

It’s a good deal for all parties

- we don’t commit to paying 33m off the bat but if we do then we are doing much better.
- spurs get rid of wages and if dele reaches his potential then they get a good fee
- alli gets a change of scenery under a manager who will have faith in him.

Then again he could be Rooney in his part 2 man u career, bagging 300k a week being a man un striker whilst not scoring a hattrick for years and years.

I guess we will find out soon enough what is what.

If he plays 2 seasons worth of games in 2 1/2 years that means he has been a success and has stayed fit more to the point. How much did we pay for gbamin, bolasie, besic, tosun, delph and how many games have we got out of them between then. Probably less than 80 in 3 years and has cost us a damn site more than 40m each.

But possibly on the flip side, he plays 2 seasons, does great. We hand over £40 million to Spurs, Delli doesn’t sign a new deal so he can go to a CL club (if it works out) and we’ve just payed £40 million for somebody who’s left us on a free

I reckon if he's playing well, then we offer a contract extension and if he refuses we stop playing him before that trigger is reached.

…..nobody will be overly fussed about fees and salary if Alli does the business on the field and pushes us up the league.

A relatively short contract, a benchmark will be this time next season when we’ll be able to judge his worth. Hopefully we’ll be wanting him to extend his current deal. Time will tell.
Just have a great feeling about this one mate, both him and VdB actually

That’s a fair point mate, I wonder how long into that deal we’d have to make that call though over offering him a new deal vs him potentially walking away for nothing

But if he doesnt perform and hes on 150k a week wages...how is this a good deal for us?

Arghhhhhhhh!!!!! Why the fume from anyone? It is an amazing deal. As many have said, we only pay up if he plays 20 games. He will only play if he plays well. If he is cack, he will be frozen out after 19 games and sold. Very simple.

Even if he plays 20 games, is mediocre but scores 2 or 3 goals (his career average suggests he would bag 5 goals in 20 games, but let's not be greedy) and then breaks his leg on game 21 when we have made the first 20 million payment, he still represents betrer value than Iwobi, Tosun, Gbamin, Bolasie etc etc etc...

This is an amazing deal for us. We have total control if he turns out gash as we don't play him. If he isn't, then we have another 50million+ player on our hands.

Demarai Gray is the same age for comparison....
