Confirmed Signing Dele Alli

This. We'll just have taken over his contract. If we get relegated we won't have paid a fee and he can go to a new club on a free.

But will anyone take on his wages? Or will we be stuck with a player on £150k a week in the Championship who we can’t allow to play anymore games? Every discussion we have about signings really must be caveated with “if we stay up...”. Relegation changes absolutely everything.

That’s a fair point mate, I wonder how long into that deal we’d have to make that call though over offering him a new deal vs him potentially walking away for nothing
Well if he plays all 20 games remaining this season, and then plays a very optimistic 50 goals the following season it still take us into the final year of his contract when you would be wanting to tie him down to a new deal anyway if he has been good and if not he gets sidelined until offloaded. So I think the deal has been well structured so that we will not get to pay anywhere near £40 million unless he proves to be worth it.

I want 60 from him. NSNO

Our total exposure in that event is a bit north of 20 million pounds. Not a bad dice roll, when you consider that:

a) He must want it. That's why he's here. He could have sat it out on Spurs' bench and collected wages. Instead, he moved to a club managed by the guy he feels is most likely to sort his head out.

b) There's a 100 million player in there somewhere, because we've seen it. This isn't dropping 20 million on an unproven kid.

It's as well structured as a sizable gamble gets. It could go as sideways as Balotelli, to be sure, but we don't get hurt all that badly if it does.

Its about the potential of the player mate for me, he seems someone who needs to have that manager who is fully behind him, and really this is the first time since Pocch he has that.

The Alli of 22 talent wise but with the experience of having crashed before getting it back, for me that's why it's exciting.

It may not happen, but by God it's good to at least have a player who could. (Same way Gray has been the second best thing this season after Gordon)
6 starts under Nuno doesnt subscribe your vision of not having a manager fully behind him. He didnt really shine there. Granted the whole team didnt but our team lacks the same cohesion as Spurs.

It is still a big fee, even for £20m, on a player that Mourinho, Nuno and Conte have all washed their hands of. A player Mourinho called a very bad trainer and lazy. It is a move not without risk, but you are right I think, it is a gamble worth taking.

Hopefully Lampard will succeed where others have failed and motivate him back to his best form.

Have a few friends that support Spurs and they really rate him. Sad to see him leave. If he can stay fit this will be a good signing. If not, some of the risk has been mitigated. I'm not complaining.

Seen a lot doing lineups all included Gray and Richy leaving out Gordon, of all our attacking players Gordon's the one who Ali would thrive off most as he's got the best vision/distribution of the lot of them
Gordon has been good but I don’t mind having him on the bench at the moment because he struggles to last 90 minutes and can make a difference when he comes on.
