Great to see a player come on and make demands of our players when they make mistakes. And even better to see some snide tackles. Hoping we can see more of him

I think there is too much emphasis on defence, We playedDoucoure Iwobi and Ali as a midfield 3.Doucoure more of a ball winner but the other 2 are mobile and are good in the ball and we got better control of midfield and dictated better ball position. Ali won us the game tonight no it shows we probably should have played him more.

Probably should of played him more, but I think this game tonight was made for him. As cliche as it sounds, 2-0 down he comes on and puts a performance in like that. I think he’s set a standard for himself now, which is probably what frank has wanted him to do. It’s up to him now to play like that and he’ll be a starter. I think it’s been good management to a certain extent. He’s made him train hard and probably when he’s watched us from the bench (Watford for example) I believe he’s thought he should of been brought on to make a difference. Tonight frank put trust in him and brought him on to change the game and probably said that to him, prove a point, and he definitely took it.

Dele was critical to my mind mate when he came on he gave us energy, threat, creativity and progression. He brought Richarlison and DCL into the game and there was a buzz amongst them, a different energy, rhythm and tempo. We looked like we had a creative p,Ayer behind the two for the first time in a long time and it drove Palace back, the lads a football player. To many of our creative players are to slow of thought, take to many touches and lack confidence. Dele doesn’t I hope tonight helped him reignite the fire.

Agree mostly with what you wrote but I actually thought it was his composure which changed the game, the antithesis of energy. Here we had a player completely different to the others who was going to look after the ball while everyone else was 100mph around them… exactly what Gomes was supposed to be doing but was too busy worrying whether his pea heart would overload with another petulant foul. excellent cameo and I hope that crowd and atmosphere has reignited something in him because what a player we’d have if he found his mojo

It was clear from the Spurs documentary that he just isn’t a great trainer. He can be the difference on the pitch though.

But no really.

Hes a quality player, when he wants to be, its difficult to call at this point.

I would probably keep him, but I can see why we might let him go, its a hard 1 to call.

Ok but I think you know the situation and know what I'm saying. Yes he's our player but if we move him on this summer we don't have to pay anything since the fee is entirely dependent on clauses which he hasn't hit. So in essence we're on a trial. And I wouldn't renew even with today.

Posted this in the Lampard thread but probably worth posting here .

I'm not saying Dele is on the level of these players but Zidane and Riquelme often lost possession playing a forward ball BUT it was a ball that rewarded intelligent runs. I think that's what Alex Ferguson meant when he said Zidane improved the team around him. Hopefully Dele can continue to show bravery in that respect.
