2021/22 Dele Alli

Dele was the definition of a free role, much like James he’ll randomly pop up in front of the back four to receive the ball because he wants to get involved and feels that’s the best way how but unlike James and more like Lampard he’s also great at ghosting into scoring positions too.

Basically, it doesn’t matter the formation or where he’s technically playing, if he’s on it and up for it, he’ll be quality for us - hoping these kind of good news hype stories are coming out because he and Frank are feeling good about him.

Alli certainly won’t do that mate.

He came back a stone lighter than he left. A great sign of commitment. He’s probably in his physical peak when you consider his age so the rest is up to him and Lampard getting a tune out of him. Should they achieve it consistently then Everton will have got an incredible bargain. If not then Welcome to the MLS, Dele.

All of that was spunk

I hadn't heard that, that's great to hear (if I've not just fallen for a wind-up). Especially since people were so keen to put the boot in to him when those pics of him on holiday were getting banded around.

Nah just spoke to our old friend the blue fox so that’s as good as you’ll get. Bobble also referenced it so leads me to believe it’s on point.

Pre season will show us.

It's not like the guys an arsehole with toxic habits that'll wreck his career, he simply just seemed to lose motivation for the game and needs a certain connection with the manager.

If he has found that desire again, even if it's based on proving the media wrong them it's great news for us. Sometimes it just takes the right environment to make something click with a player.

If he has gotten himself in great shape and starts well this season, he'll become a big favourite and will thrive from that (as will DCL and all the attacking players)
If he gets back to even 75% of 2018 Dele he's our best midfielder by absolutely miles. (I appreciate there's not much competition)

I don't get all the moaning over the fee. Not a hope in hell we pay 40m for him, and if we do we'll highly likely be too pleased with the teams performance to care.

Safe to say that if he's a regular this season, we'll have forked out 20m for the player. Pretty sure the next 20 won't be so easy for spurs to collect.
