2021/22 Dele Alli

Very true and that is the risk in what could only be described as a gamble at the time.

In that scenario you’d think a hungry player would be desperate to leave in the summer if it was spelled out by the club.

Really thought Fronk had some inside knowledge of whatever Dele’s issues the last 3 years or so have been and felt confident he’d contribute when he came here.

Looks a bit misplaced now. In this rebuild phase we can’t just be signing players for the sake of it. We’ve already got a load of big flops on huge wages, their contracts are just about up, we don’t want to replace them with more of the same.

Such short term thinking, get a strategy Everton!!
I think, unfortunately, as with many others, he will not be desperate enough to play that he will take a pay cut to do so. This kid is here for two and a half years, or, we give him a pay off to leave early.

Of course, on the upside, he might get in the team and get the form he showed in his early years back. I won't hold my breath though.

We are not really in a position to chastise people for getting paid while not doing their job, we support a team full of wasters getting paid to be footballers.
The point is, people on here and other sites /Twitter post pieces of negativity and a number of people believe and thrive off the negativity. When the journalist can’t even get basic facts right

We don't know for certain, but Alli had his face put out at Spurs with the arrival of Son.

Before that time he and Kane were very good. So he downed tools possibly?

Is it possible he could have that rapport with DCL? We simply don't know.

The lack of quality and reliable DCM partnerships has fracked the team possible selections up no doubt.

If I was picking the team, I wouldn't be picking Alli simply because what's behind him isn't good enough...most of the time.

Be great to get some goals and assists from him before the season ends. We need them.

Just a thought.

Son and Alli joined Spurs in the same summer.

When he first broke through he was aggressive and motivated. Strikes me as a guy who's lost his mojo and fallen out of love with the game. Most times I've seen him over the last couple of years he has looked half-hearted

He hasn’t cost us a penny apart from
Wages, do you really believe no other prem
Club or clubs in the other big 4 leagues wouldn’t be interested.

If we want rid, we probably pass him on to a club that agrees a similar deal with spurs. Or we sell him for money and compensate spurs

I admire your optimism, but… :

Apart from wages - £80’000 a week
Do I believe no other Prem club would be interested? - I absolutely do believe that.

The last thing we need at this moment is another failure.

No other club will pick up those wages for a washed up has been. Levy knew what he was doing. Moshiri. Well we know Moshiri doesn’t.

Wow

A washed up has been, seriously have a word with yourself.
My god give the lad a chance he’s 25. Not 30.

We’re such a weird fan base. We’re financially in a tough period, we had to take a gamble or three, this season.

If we sell a few players this summer then hopefully we can recruit some young players in the summer.

Worse case scenario he fails he costs us about 15mil.

? that piece says we’re a point above the drop zone. Says it all, you really have to wonder how these people get payed and actually qualified to do a career in journalism
It also says he broke through as a teenager at Spurs in 2019…I know being employed by Everton accelerates the ageing process but how’s he 25 now If he was a teenager 3 years ago? The hacks literally make up inches to fill their piece of the rag with, at least the daily sport was obvious to its nonsense

Alli loved Son. Surely you haven’t forgotten their cringeworthy goal celebrations.

The level of journalism found in most British papers is very low, this is not confined to sport. Sensationalism trumps fact.
Of course. The job is selling papers and attracting big advertisers. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story..
