2021/22 Dele Alli

people want to bring him on as sub, but if we are going to paying for him on a performance basis surely it makes sence for him to be fit and sharp and able to make a difference.
A preseason and a fresh start in august and we may have a bargain or chance to dispose without paying anything other than wages

He costs us no more if he starts all remaining games this season as he would if he wasn’t even on the bench.

What I’m saying is the structure of the deal is probably working against him. We are clearly finiancially unstable and spending money on player that could go either way isn’t going to be top of agenda. Not playing him til the club are certain he is worth the investment

He's only 26. I predict a bright future once he slots in.
I think the same, he was available and has been good in the past it’s a risk, but personally I think it’s a risk worth taking whether we stay in the PL or not, let’s hope we do. We currently don’t play in a set up to suit him, I’m sure going forward Frank will change things and Alli could well be an important member of the squad. People saying play him but where atm ?

If he still has the legs (which he really should he's only 26 ffs) he could perhaps slot into that position Iwobi has in a midfield 3. Could be worth letting Iwobi run himself into the ground again against Leicester for an hour and give Dele half an hour against a Leicester side that should be a bit leggy given their recent schedule.

I agree, he hits 19 and it’s Michael ball time

Replace a player who never stops running with a player who won’t run? I don’t know if that will be as smooth a transition as you think.

I don't know where he fits in to our set up. I have no doubt that we will be changing our playing style next year, whatever happens. Hopefully it is with us still in the Premier League and Frank at the helm. Maybe in a new system Ali fits in and regains his best form, for me it all depends on the deal we done with Spurs, if he is affordable then he is worth a gamble, if we have to pay £40 mill then we can get in a more reliable player.

Until he shows some desire and enthusiasm to really play for us, he will not fit in anywhere.

Yeah man just ignore the part right at the start of the post where it says “if he still has the legs”.

Not suggesting he could do the same role Iwobi has been playing for us, just that that position could suit him - the more forward-thinking midfielder in a midfield 3.

Of course he could do a better job than Iwobi.

Do not give in to peer pressure.

Alex Iwobi is a rubbish player who people have elevated based on him running a bit for 1 game, totally ignoring his whole career when he has looked nothing but utterly rubbish.

Can I add that if he didn’t occasionally pop up with a goal or a decent performance then he wouldn’t be a professional footballer?

Two mobile DMs behind him he would have the freedom to get in the box
