Is he useful?

If yes, play him.

As @UltraVires rightly mentioned, on paper you'd say yes as he showed his talent at Spurs albeit early on, but when was the last time he actually performed?

For whatever reason, he has yet to start a game for us and there's been a few games where you'd have felt he may have been considered. The same as a sub.

I want him to succeed because we could do with him right now although currently Lampard appears to not be able to rely on him. So the question is, why?

Maybe he has a minimum appearance fee.

Then, ultimately why buy him or who authorised the deal? The structure of the deal has been mentioned regularly, but Spurs have had his wages off the books.

It feels more and more as if the deal has benefited them and will continue to do so far more than it will us.

100% agree. He's a textbook example of a second striker.

We don't have ANY mobile DMs. If Dele needs two of them behind to play in a midfield three then I'd respectfully suggest that this is de facto evidence that he's not currently a viable option in midfield.

I wonder if he could be used as a 'false 9' next season if we sell DCL. Would make sense in theory if Lampard installs a passing game.

Otherwise he's played on the left a number of times so could slot in there if we sold Richarlison.

I wonder if we could just offload him before next season and before we spend any shillings on him

I'd offload him. If he was capable of having some impact for us then he would have at least got on the pitch. When we have seen him, he's looked like he's running through sea water. This lad is done.

Obvious thing to assume, he just isn’t committed, but it’s just a speculative opinion

When he has come on in matches he has been way off the pace also doesn’t look interested, in my opinion he has lost the desire and appetite for football, clearly not interested
