2022/23 Dele Alli

Could his stint in Turkey be a wake up call?....
If anything we were the wake up call, not Turkey. He went from being a Champions League finalist, England international, superstar worth £100m to about 18 months later being a free transfer to comfortably the worst side in the league at that time, almost getting relegated and then being shipped off at the first chance. If that didn't give him the pressure and drive to turn things around I'm not sure much else would.

Hehe nah. He's cooked. Heads gone.

Would be having a list of clubs who'd want him on loan next season already lined up
I guessing its his attitude to training and looking after himself outside football so should retire then, rather than take good money. No issue with him not fulfilling his potential and for him play at standard he is happy with, but not fool people and coast training on the back of excellent wages, proper taking the piss.

Honestly think we'd have went down without a few moments from him last season - vital contribution in 92nd minute equaliser vs Leicester in April and he changed the game completely when he come on at half time vs Crystal Palace.

Something happened between him and Lampard in my opinion, he went from being one we will work with and give opportunities to next year, to being on a plane to Turkey out of nowhere.

It's so weird. I'd hoped he'd have known the score with Alli given his standing/connections in the game.

I think what was telling though is when he was leaving, Lampard was asked something like does he see it as a reflection on himself or is he particularly disappointed Alli hasn't performed to standard and Lampard said he never knew Dele Alli before he turned up. I think it was a rare, mask slip on what the manager thought of him personally.

There was an interview from Uncle Harry (Redknapp), it was his recommendation. Luckily its still available for the link, says it all really.

Clearly has issues off the pitch. Well known to be poor in training. Doesn't justify both issues on the pitch to be selected.

He comes back from loan he has 18 months left on his contract. No doubt will be farmed out again or stuck as an expensive under 23 player. Then we'll see what happens to him after that...

He'll either go to club's where they think they'll "get something out of him", lower his wages so club's can afford him...or quit football for good.

There’s something seriously not right with him and whatever it is he has my sympathy and wish that it improves.

That said, as Everton football club, it was all very clear before we signed him - a metaphor for our club, screaming panic, desperation and lack of planning. As well as misplaced wishful thinking that the signing would work out. Indefensible signing given the previous money wasted at the club.

Always suspected it was the case mate - Redknapps early comments about Alli being perfect for Everton and Lampard, and then the subsequent comments screamed face saving - actually discussed it here and here.
Good work by Tottenham in keeping his misgivings low key as possible, maybe we as club could learn a thing or two...
Don't have problem with his attitude maybe he achieved the personal wealth he needs and that is enough, good for him, I can sympathize with that but he really needs to get hold of himself and stop kidding fans now and get out of big leagues where a decent standard of professional attitude is required. I don't see he has learnt a lesson that affords him another appearance for us as same worries are being spoken.
