2022/23 Dele Alli

It’s a fair point. DVB I know was 100k. It’s the contrary reports though, that make me not assume. Also the fee is heavily incentivised toward performance to - which hints at the trend in nature of contract negotiations.
Think the fee structure only points to Tottenham’s desperation to get him and his contract off their books.
He was mooted as being worth north of £75m (£100m in some places) when he got that contract. It would have been worth at least the widely reported £100k per week.
For me it only reenforces my suspicion that we are paying him at least what that contract had left on it.
The alternative is Spurs payed some of the balance out to help reduce our wage liability and risked letting him go for free as well. I simply can’t see Levy doing that.
Deli Alli has not turned down / risked millions of pounds he was guaranteed to come and (edit - attempt to) play football for Everton.

Yeah, no mate - wouldn’t agree with that take, for the reasons I mention in my last two posts.

The basis of the 100k is basically, well he was on it at Spurs - but career tanked. He wasn’t in the strongest negotiation position.

Im giving you loads of reasons and you are just coming back to he was on it at Spurs.

He may well be on it - but at the moment it’s an assumption he is.

It matters because it frames the lad as a greedy lazy get - or whatever.
He didn't have to negotiate, he was on contract at Spurs and could have sat there and drawn it instead of drawing a lesser salary at goodison. It just doesn't make sense. No point in .arguing further, as you are convinced you're right and I'm equally convinced I am.

There are some reports that his contract is incentive based though.

We all assume we just picked up his Spurs deal, do we really know?
There’s a lot we don’t know but posters pass off speculation as knowledge if it’s convenient for their agenda/argument. The only people that know about his deal are BK/DL, the player, the agent and respective finance / legal teams for each club

There’s absolute zero chance he has signed a contract on less money than he was on at Spurs, none whatsoever.
There is of course, his stock was nowhere as high coming to Everton as it was when he signed his contract extension with Spurs (which is why he came to Everton) so his market value plummets which would likely mean his salary plummets.

He last signed a contract extension with Spurs in October 18 having just been to the World Cup with England and It was reportedly a six year contract, again reportedly on around £150k a week, now whether that is true is another matter but that is what was reported……if true I’d be flabbergasted if he was on anywhere near that at Everton when it was widely acknowledged this was his last chance at redemption

This is Everton we’re talking about. He will be on round about what he was on at Spurs, I’d bet my life on it. We are VERY incompetent at everything.

No I get that…..but I’d honestly be shocked if we were that stupid…..but Ive been shocked before so who knows…..I guess if they can make our BoD amongst the highest paid Boards in the PL, anything’s possible

Bringing him in in the first place is where the incompetence was, ‘taking over’ a players contract is so absolutely normal in these circumstances I’m struggling to get my head around why anyone would think he would willingly reject potentially millions of pounds he was guaranteed, just to play for us!
Mind boggling.

You say it your self mate, h pe was worth 75 - 100 mill when he negotiated that contract he wasnt when he signed it with Spurs not when we signed him, I’ve given loads of reasons on the last page why he would renegotiate a lower or incentivised wage. Truth is I don’t know, nor does anyone else - people are assuming it’s 100k - is my point.

I’ve no idea if I’m right mate, my point is everyone is making an assumption really on the 100k - the only basis for that is he was getting that at Spurs, even thiugh his value has plummeted before his move, that grows legs and influences. But I take on board all you say. ;)

I don’t really follow the life of Dele Alli, but from the bits I’ve read, he seems to be living the life of a bum. He’s sitting on his arse playing computer games ffs, doing exactly what he would be doing had he not been a footballer.

My point being that I’m not sure his behaviour has been caused by fame or wealth. He’d still be sitting on his arse wasting his days playing computer games if he hadn’t of experienced fame or wealth imo. He’d just be doing it in a bedsit rather than a luxurious villa.

But he didn’t do that when he first broke through. He was considered one of the best young players in the world at one point. You don’t do that sitting round playing Mario Kart.

It doesn’t matter what his status / career position was when he signed for us, he was still owed £13m (or their about) from his contract with Tottenham.
Either Spurs paid it out or we’ve picked it up.
As I said before, I personally very much doubt Levy paid him out while at the same time potentially letting him go for free.
That would be kenwright levels of transfer nous.
