I think it's a fairly reasonable assumption that he is on, at least what he was on at Spurs, it's not as if he is the type to take a pay cut to kick start his career. He has shown little desire to put in the effort required to do that. He seems like a lad who is happy to go through the motions and draw his inflated pay packet.

There’s absolute zero chance he has signed a contract on less money than he was on at Spurs, none whatsoever.

He may be mate. Maybe it has the potential to match his Spurs salary with performance add ons. The point is it is still an assumption and there has been conflicting reports Vs an incentive based deal. I can’t find anywhere bar the jarg salary sites that say he’s on 100k.

So in essence we’re all guessing and assuming.

No one knows so they are just stating opinion.

I really hope it’s incentive based.

So there's two options, one is that the club handed out a silly mega expensive contract and the other is that we actually offered nothing and its heavily incentivised.

Now which option do you think Everton and its board would've went for?

I can't find anything to suggest he is on an incentivised deal. Ask yourself this, why would he turn down guaranteed money for Spurs, to come to a much worse team on an incentivised deal, when he knows that he is unlikely to meet the trigger points to achieve his incentives?

I just posted a link above mate granted it’s a quote from a source at the club, but there are 0 quotes to say he’s on 100k.

I explained above, the value of the contract may be the same, but there may be excellerrated performence based element to it. Why woukd he sign it - loads of reasons, the hope of a fresh start, game time, he was prob told he had 0 future at Spurs - most contracts include performence add on i.e, apperaernce bonus, assist bonus, goal bonus- none of which he can access at Spurs. Otherwise players earn two income one from playing and another from commercial activites from their profile. If he’s not active at Spurs then his commercial income drops. Can think of numerous and to be honest more likely scenarios.

Im not saying he’s not on 100k, I’m just saying I’ve seen nothing evidentially bar the incentivised deal, my point being given that - it’s an assumption he is actually on a base 100k.

It’s a fair point. DVB I know was 100k. It’s the contrary reports though, that make me not assume. Also the fee is heavily incentivised toward performance to - which hints at the trend in nature of contract negotiations.

The sensible assumption is that, even if the player is not thinking straight, his advisors, given his form and lack of appetite for the game, would not have agreed to an incentivised contract, unless the flat rate was at least as much as his Spurs money and any incentives were on tof that. What you are suggesting just doesn't make sense,

I think he’s an extreme case of what happens when young lads get everything they could ever want, too soon.

There’s plenty of other examples of players in similar circumstances, just not on as grand a scale. The likes of Michael Branch and Jose Baxter for us.

I think Premier League teams are trying to do more to support players so that they don’t get ahead of themselves, however the off one will slip through the net on that and Alli is one of them. It’s a shame for him as he could’ve been a great footballer.

I don’t really follow the life of Dele Alli, but from the bits I’ve read, he seems to be living the life of a bum. He’s sitting on his arse playing computer games ffs, doing exactly what he would be doing had he not been a footballer.

My point being that I’m not sure his behaviour has been caused by fame or wealth. He’d still be sitting on his arse wasting his days playing computer games if he hadn’t of experienced fame or wealth imo. He’d just be doing it in a bedsit rather than a luxurious villa.

Yeah, no mate - wouldn’t agree with that take, for the reasons I mention in my last two posts.

The basis of the 100k is basically, well he was on it at Spurs - but career tanked. He wasn’t in the strongest negotiation position.

Im giving you loads of reasons and you are just coming back to he was on it at Spurs.

He may well be on it - but at the moment it’s an assumption he is.

It matters because it frames the lad as a greedy lazy get - or whatever.
