Can I just wrap things up here by suggesting to Dele (and anyone else) that - and I have experienced both - you would be much better off getting into some Wim Hof breathwork rather than balloons. High on your own supply...

Not quite those levels but concur about the fall from grace, should and could've been amongst the best around based on initial form. I find it quite sad really. Bad advice or just ignorant to any advice he did get. Polar opposite to Bellingham who seems to have a strong support network round him. Kids eh 🤷‍♂️
Higher than bellingam. One of the top midfielders europe for 3 seasons especially 2016/2017 scored 18 pl goals and 7 assists

When he signed Lukaku did you give him the credit he deserved for being fully responsible for bringing such a good striker to the club?
Well, apart from the part he called Chelsea about Demba Ba.

Yeah.

As for Ali, it was presented as a fait acompli on Lampards first day.

"last day of the window, we can get Ali and VDB, yes or no?"

Would they have signed them had Lampard said no? Doubtful.... But Ali was 100% a Kenwright vanity project. To view it otherwise is up there as one of your worst rewrites of history (and it's had stiff competition.)

I can quote where they were praising Bill Kenwright over the signing later. After it was done.

All silent now.

Bill Kenwright is 100% disgrace and he is definitely a great deal to do with everything that is wrong at the club.

He signed off, literally the signing and negotiated the deal

All before Thelwell arrived at the club
of all the transfers we have made that have been spectacularly poor, and the shambolic running of the club over the last decade, the arrival of a former £100m rated player on a free transfer, is not the one to focus. It was a bet that never came off and in real terms hasn’t cost us much.
Don’t think there’s any dispute Kenwrong did the ‘negotiations’ with Levy but both Alli and Lampard are represented by the same agency (CAA Base) and imo there is zero chance this wasn’t all set up in the background during Lampard’s talks about becoming manager.
At the very least he will have known and endorsed it (or been able to veto it), and I believe it’s entirely viable he and CAA Base actually floated it as a ‘condition’.
I agree - There is no way lampard wasn’t over this.

Also the dele thread at the time had more people in favour of the deal then against.

Its cost Everton > £13 million. A player that has been rejected from a club we sent him off to for non performance

On what planet, and in what universe is that "the right thing for Kenwright to do" ?

Its complete and utter incompetence. No attempt by you to dress it otherwise changes that.
£13m isn’t a huge amount for a premier league club. If you spend £13m on a player he is not likely to be a first team player.
Yes the signing never worked out, but you are freaking at what is relitively a small loss.
The amount of bad signings we have made in the last decade have led to this. We have barely bought anyone whose value has increased in ten years.

Unrealistic expectation of how this likely played out.
Lampard would have been thrashing out terms, the agent would have also represented dele would have working on the deal in conjunction.
Lampard would have known about the dele deal throughout negotiations, likely encouraged, even suggested, rather than surprised by it at the point he became manager.
Lampard and dele having the same representatives is a big clue here

Given the state of the EFC accounts. We cannot afford to waste a single penny. Let alone what we have on Dele Alli

It was the state of the accounts that forced us to take a chance on dele. It made little impact on the accounts.
I can’t get as worked up as you, about it.
Think we can agree it hasn’t worked out.
But disagree that the long shot bet was or wasn’t worth taking at the time.
Hindsight’s always 20:20
