If we actually had any intention of playing him then we'd probably be better served, paying up his contract and then trying to resign him when he'd technicaly be a "free agent" afterwards, would mean we'd not have to pay Spurs anything but obviously would need to pay the value of the contract to him.
All in all I don't see any world where he actually comes back and plays here, think he might be retiring soon honestly.

Spurs actually renegotiated the deal for Gareth Bale, and screwed Southampton out of millions, so they have form for it.
But its not in their interest to do it. So they won't.

It's funny that all the many players we wish we didn't have or those who have thankfully left us, were all assumed to be on 100k per week. Divide that by 2 and it might be nearer reality. Still a financial mismanagement, but not to the extent the guesses on here would have you believe.

As it stands Spurs aren't going to see one penny for Dele. Even if Dyche is of a mind to give him a chance in pre-season the club just aren't going to let him play enough to trigger the first payment- he'll see out his contract and leave us and Spurs will get nothing. I've no idea what a renegotiated structure would be (us writing off some potential add-ons for Richy?) but Spurs have nothing to lose.
They’ll see the £13m in saved wages.
