They’ll see the £13m in saved wages.
Apparently that’s an insignificant amount though 🤭
Yeah, and of course the main point in them letting come to us was to get him off their wage bill. But having achieved that it's no skin off their nose to renegotiate the transfer deal so that it doesn't prevent us from playing him next season, in the unlikely event Dyche fancies getting a tune out of him.

We’re a bit stuck here unless we can shift him on a free which is unlikely due to his wages unless he fancies going to the Middle East or maybe MLS. I’m guessing it will be 2 more seasons of loans with a portion of his salary being paid.

If we buy him out of his contract can we still spread that across two accounting years or would it all count on one year? If it counts on one year then it makes no sense for us to buy him out.

Good point that. I think we’ve had a few managers who’ve been paid out the balance of their contracts over a couple of seasons so would hope it’s feasible for a player too. He still gets the opportunity to get a new contract and double up so shouldn’t matter to him.
iirc another corker of a pay out was Edamhead agreeing a comparative pittance from the Dutch FA to manage the national team because would have to continue paying him a small fortune.

Just terminate his contract for a gross breach of ( what I hope and trust) is a good behaviour clause. When he sues , settle for a lesser amount which then gets written off. Simples

As it stands Spurs aren't going to see one penny for Dele. Even if Dyche is of a mind to give him a chance in pre-season the club just aren't going to let him play enough to trigger the first payment- he'll see out his contract and leave us and Spurs will get nothing. I've no idea what a renegotiated structure would be (us writing off some potential add-ons for Richy?) but Spurs have nothing to lose.
Levy strikes me as the sort who would burn money before giving it to someone else. He would rather get nothing for him and Ali be a failure, than get a small amount on the off chance he comes good. Thats why the deal was negotiated the way it was to begin with.

With the admittedly extreme outside chance he has in turning it round and making a success of it here, Levy already has a financial windfall to gain if it works out. If it doesnt, and we release him for nothing, he will see that as a victory as well.

He is someone who will cut off his nose to spite his face, and i dont see him making a deal, just in case it does work out, even though they have clearly already moved on.

I don't think for a minute, that we will play Alli for enough games to incur a transfer to Spurs. I don't think Spurs are worried by this on jot. Levy just wanted to get the massive wage Spurs were paying Alli off their balance sheet. He knew he hat Alli was finished, for whatever reason, and was delighted to unload him on his good friend Billy Liar.

That is it in a nutshell.

Huge multi million pound wage released by Spurs. Who took Everton's best player 6 months later

They saw Bill Kenwright coming
