2022/23 Dele Alli

Fair play to the lad for coming out and admitting his demons, hopefully he’s putting the help into practise and coming out stronger.

There’s no denying the lads ability, hopefully with the right help we get to see the old Dele this season. With him playing off a new striker or a fit DCL would be good to see.

Spurs have already forfeited the £10 million because we simply aren’t going to play him 7 more times. That’s the point.

A restructure of the deal is in the interest of all parties.
They presumably still owe us some add ons from the Richy deal, logically that could form part of a negotiation that would mean we didn't have to hand over any cash.

Don't forget Dele himself - without blaming him for the problems he's had, he's the only person who's made money out of all this, continuing to pick up a huge salary during a period where he's been unable to work to his full capacity. He should be part of a three way compromise to enable him to play football unhindered this season.

Difficult to have sympathy with him to be honest unless he's been addicted to sleeping tablets for the last five years and that's why he's not looked interested in putting in the hard work despite being more than interested in pocketing £100,000 a week from his various clubs. Everton clearly are not in a position to gamble £20-30m on him by making him a first team regular this season, and this interview has probably killed off any chance we did have of offloading him. I acknowledge him for being brave and speaking publicly about this issue, but it's not the best of news for Everton as a business. Speaking clearly from a business perspective here where there is no room to pay somebody £100,000 a week for nothing in return.

Difficult to have sympathy for someone who was abused as a child, and has clearly struggled with trauma all their life?

If you can hear all the things he's had to say there and still find it difficult to have sympathy with him then I'd say you're the one with the problem, chief.
