2023/24 Dele

Here's an idea: cancel the loan and send him back to Spurs. But they won't.
The lad will be on the 'freebee list' come end of season.
and other then wages we won't have paid a penny for him...

Drives me insane the amount of time 'loan deal' is mentioned regarding Dele 😩

The main thing this squad is badly lacking is exactly what a fit Dele could bring. It won’t be easy to find players with that skill set in January.

Still can’t escape the feeling he’s going to have a role to play this season.

You mean he was criticised for not working hard enough? All while he has admittedly spent much of his time through that period heavily addicted to sleeping tablets?
I cant imagine for a moment why he was so lackadaisical.

Your right , sod it , let’s sign him up on another 5 year contract , it’s not as if we are in financial trouble or anything , the more players like Gomes, Ali, Sandro , Morgan, etc that earn 100k a week yet don’t actually play footy for us , the better .

Who froze him out? Lampard didn’t, he played him.
Then Dyche, who has spoken very positively about him numerous times.

In regards to Turkey, he came back because he was injured, not thrown out. He has since then shared his trauma with the world. Which would explain his difficulties over the past few years. But he has also sought out help for that.

He is currently injured recovering. And I believe Dyche over the situation before I believe gammons on here.

This is a strange response considering in what you have replied to, I haven't mentioned anything about 5 year contracts or wages. I've simply stated that there are mitigations for his performances, and once those mitigations have been removed I feel he deserves a chance to prove himself. A reset of sorts. He may turn out to be a busted flush, he's got 6 games to prove he isn't, but I won't be judging him until he's been given that opportunity.

I feel that many people garner an opinion on on others and when things change they simply double down in the hope of shouting how right they were from the rooftops. I'm willing to give him a second chance following what has been a difficult period for him with mental health and physical injury.

We also shouldn't forget that his interview was in the early stages of recovery for him, the very start of what will be an ongoing process. He said himself that he was only coming out with it so early on because if he didn't, the tabloids would have led it with their own narrative.

Ah ok, by frozen out do you mean making 29 appearances in his last full season for them?

Then making 18 appearances in the first half of the season for them before we signed him in the Jan?

May not have been getting 90 mins, but he certainly wasn’t “frozen out”.
