Honestly don't know how some of yas can turn your nose up at low price deals that will actually fill some squad holes and address pace issues.

Give me that Vs paying loads for bang average players. Spend smart on the squad holes and then add quality slowly but surely.

This is the same fanbase who turn their noses up at stellar names like Ings and Zaha whilst our bench has dregs like Toshun & Iwobi on it.

Im not suprised anymore.

We don’t have squad holes. We have Iwobi and Bernard. Are these 2 big upgrades? I’d say not.

Gray isn't the issue here. There's at least upside with him. Townsend on the other hand.
I had Gray in my fantasy team for a bit cause he’s one of those players that look good but he turned out be useless. Reminds me of the first time Iwobi got on the scene with Arsenal. Then after a few years of flattering to deceive Brands decided it was time to buy him. Same goes for Gray. And Townsend deary me. Whats the point in letting Walcott go just to replace with someone even worse? Palace don’t even want him ffs and they’re going down

Gray is costing 1.5m and even if he's terrible in the final third he can dribble the ball up the field which we need. And he's someone who can maybe kick on still so it is reasonable to sign him. So I can understand that at least.

Townsend is just a mess.

Not really - the risk factor is that they come in and are crap. I don’t see how that helps our finances either.
Because whatever way you look at it, we need depth in those areas badly. We can’t drop 20mil+ on every player. The wages alone make these much less risky signings than Delph, Bernard etc ever were. The prices we’re getting them for offer better depth than we have now for relative buttons in the short and long term. So long as we show a bit more imagination in the other major areas, maybe even in the same position as these 2 if they truly are rotation options, they’re ‘quick wins’ than won’t turn into massive 100k+ a week burdens

Comfortable with these 2 lads, Townsend will likely be more effective than Bernard and Gray is very direct, they give good options and definitely improve the squad
