2 years, stupidity of the highest order
I mean why? Why is it? We could just sell him next year for £2m. It’s not like he’s gonna be on £100k a week like most of the garbage we’ve been trying to ship out for the last 3 years.
we shouldn’t be spending a single cent on overage no mark.
Well no, but we are, and the sooner our fans accept that our aim as a club is to accrue enough points to stay in the league until we move into the new stadium, the less things like this will bother you.
From some people I trust and two of them don’t even follow Everton but know what goes on behind the scenes at the club and believe Benitez will improve the playing side even if he upsets a few people in doing so, the easy life is over and not just for the players, everyone at Finch Farm.Where have you heard this mate?
This doesn't necessarily help that goal though.Well no, but we are, and the sooner our fans accept that our aim as a club is to accrue enough points to stay in the league until we move into the new stadium, the less things like this will bother you.

It doesn't really matter if your aim is first or no worse than 17th building a good team is building a good team and signing bad players is never helpful.
If you sign bad players at some point the team will be bad. We aren't there yet thankfully but in two to three years who knows. You don’t need to build a good team to finish 12th in the Premier League though.

I agree. We are sailing dangerously close to the wind.
I really hope all of this is true, we've had far too many false dawns recently.I wouldn’t be sneering at these two signings, they will play plenty of games for Everton next season and will be professional about it, more than some of the players were last season. At Finch Farm Benitez is having an effect in a short time there, two or three of the senior players are already moaning that their workload ( training) is too hard, Benitez’s response was if they don’t like it they know where the door is, when their attitude got back to him, maybe the holiday camp many players have enjoyed over the last few years is over and they will have to earn their wages from now on.
Well we all know the score with Iwobi, he’ll be very hard to get rid of, one premier league club were interested until they found out the wages he is, reputedly, on and realised they couldn’t pay him anywhere near that figure, I think there a few more in that happy position, for them!!Gray is a Moyes type signing, highly rated as a youngster, career stagnates so picks him up cheaply and takes a chance.
I thought Townsend was a lot older, I think the fans will take to Townsend on the pitch.
Always wants the ball and not afraid to run at players.
Not exactly the big money signings people expect but low spending on proven PL players. I’d take Townsend on the bench over Iwobi, Bernard.
Palace fan here. Townsend will run his arse off every week for you, but he has completely lost his pace and can't beat a full back.Yeah my thinking too. Only need to misjudge it slightly and get a bad run of injuries to your few good players and it is trouble
