I for one, am looking forward to him taking shots from all angles multiple times a game but failing to score all season

Maybe we are signing a Townsend to complement a Dumfries. Dumfries is a great attacking full back but not so great defender whereas Townsends will put a shift in defensively. Remember you cant make a cake that's just cream. the majority of the cake is sponge

Your opinion appears to be at odds with fellow Palace fan @Alan Whittle who assured me I was chatting wham yesterday when I said he was crap and deemed not good enough for Palace?

I think Gray isn’t all that bad. Townsend, meh, but he’s free and Gives us some much needed pace. We need a clear out, but it’s going to be hard to get rid.

He has no pace. It's not 2014.

I feel like the one thing we are always shouting for out of Everton is more pace. Last season was a sludge. Was I the only one watching last season when it seemed like every time we gained possession of the ball the other team easily got back for cover and our 4th pass in the movement is inevitably backwards?? I feel like these 2 signings certainly add to getting us pace into the final third. We all also want European competition and last season proved how embarrassingly thin our squad was outside of the top 12-13 players. Depth and pace for a manageable price. I know I would pick these 2 over Iwobi,Bernard and Delph.

Townsend has no pace any more.
