Confirmed Signing Demarai Gray

Mad that we are actually waiting for peak time to max out on retweets before announcing Andros Townsend and Asmir Begovic on free transfers.

Leicester City fan here.

Gray is a real mystery. When we bought him from Birmingham City, he was definitely 'the next big thing'. Over the past few years we've earned a bit of a reputation for buying players and taking them on to the next level, and it seemed like Gray would be another in that line. But he turned out to be incredibly frustrating, and he must have really pissed of his successive managers and teammates. He did show flashes of talent, and there were a few games when he came on and lit up the place, but it was only a few, sadly: all too often he held the ball too long when a pass would have been the sensible option, and he sometimes seemed to disappear from view altogether. I suspect, on the basis of no evidence other than watching him, that he thought it would fall into his lap without trying - which is odd when you consider he was playing alongside people like Vardy, Albrighton, Ndidi etc, all of whom put in 100% all the time.

Maybe Benitez will be able to unlock his ability. I hope so, because I hate to see all that talent wasted.

Tell you what, I bet people said the same about pienaar and arteta when we signed them..
Both were prospects, both flopped after big moves...
Funnily enough both were class for us
I hate how often we do the cherry picked example from entirely to long ago thing (looking at you Alan Myers bringing up Paul Power you weirdo) but yes this has happened often enough that Gray is fine at the quoted price.

There was no need to give him a fair shot because he stinks. Which is the problem with Townsend.
We probably disagree a bit here. He is not a player who should be in the starting line-up for Everton, but he is a far better alternative than Bernard and Iwobi. When it comes to speed, he is very fast. Possibly he has lost some speed, considering all the injuries. However, he is in Watford now.

By the way, we do not know exactly what Everton thinks with these signings, but I would think they should be squad players and do not have key roles in the team. In fact, these players are an upgrade from players like Bernard and Iwobi who have contributed minimally, and at a lower price.

A main stay of Mediocrity still riddles within, poor poor names being linked, on top of this does anybody think the FSW is likely to get a tune out of these

King would be useless on the right the same as Iwobi is useless on the right. So you've got to decide more so whether you want to play King or Richarlison or Dom. Because those are the positions he actually covers.

A lot I could say about that, but King is not in the club anymore. Ancelotti has also left.
