Hi Bill, me and Mr Usmanov have been talking. Even though we’ve invest the best part of £600m, we’d still like you to run the business and make all the important decisions even though we’ve reduced your shareholding down to 1.7%

I think delusion is you putting 2+2 together and getting 128. It’s utterly embarrassing

" we are also ignoring the fact that you took our new club into huge debt before we got involved and invested hundreds of millions...in fact, just carry on as you were, we dont even care.."

Gray is like what Iwobi was like at Arsenal, Arsenal fans were always expecting every season that Iwobi played to be the season he eventually became the player his promise showed, obviously it never turned out that way. Gray after showing the same promise is as crap as Iwobi is now, so it's now or never for Gray.

Roughly a twentieth of the price though and not being bought as a first choice player

£1.5m is decent enough. The other costed like £28m which is the difference.

My point still stands no matter how much we pay for him that he was a player who showed real promise but never reached that promise and at this moment in time he's a terrible footballer who was volleyed by Leicester because he wasn't good enough and then Volleyed by Leverkusen 6 months into an 18 month contract.

Now I'm not saying at £1.5m it's not worth a punt but I'm not holding my breath at expecting too much from him.

Fair enough. For me, selling Bernard and whacking this kid on the bench for practically nothing with the hope he could be a Pienaar,Arteta type signing if fine. He is not starting when Rich is fit, and his low fee and wage means we can improve on the right or the centre or even up front.

Don't get me wrong mate he is deffo worth a punt at £1.5m, and if he doesn't work out we'd get our money back and probably a bit more on top of that.

The club are in a difficult position. The reckless outlay of previous windows has really caught up with us. I’ve got to say I’m underwhelmed with Gray and Townsend but we might have no other option, to meet FFP regulations.

We have lacked width & pace, far too long. FFP obviously playing a big part in what we can do, hopefully some big earners off the books will be beneficial.

Do not quite know what I think about the purchase of Gray. However, Gray is a player who is good 1 vs. 1, and which can create an imbalance in the opponent. We lack this type of player, but I doubt if Gray is the long-term answer.

Palace fan here just reading thoughts on Townsend out of interest (week off but holiday cancelled, so yes I'm that bored)

Most of us find it an odd one, general opinion was he's a top bloke who gave his all but lost his burst of pace after a couple of injuries which took a lot from his game. Played most weeks under Hodgson as his work rate and discipline helped compensate for our ageing midfield and gave Zaha more license to roam. Still puts in a good cross and chipped in with 5 assists from them but rarely beats a man to do it. Does know his limitations in fairness which helps

Most people would have been happy for him to stay on reduced money as a squad player as we lack width, but also wanted/expected us to bring in a first team replacement this summer, Olise isn't like for like but might have been that player depending on system. If he left we thought it would be for game time so probably a newly promoted team so very surprised to see him turn up for you. Can only assume you offered more money or a longer contract as he'll just be sitting on a different bench further from home now

Anyway good luck to him and you lot for the new season, if you play him against us at least you'll know he'll score a couple this season!

Gray has never assisted more than 3 goals in a season despite playing 30+ games, he's a winger. That is not on any level someone we should be looking at, stop making excuses, we already struggle for goals and assists. His highest goals season was 4, combined(G + A) he has never has a season with 5. How on earth is this helping us?
