Not surprised ahe has done well so far, he offers us something we don't have in the squad and I'm sure being giving a starting role at such a big club means he won't want to mess this up

I wonder if he was told he would be 1st teamer or a squad option? He has done really well so far. Would love him to have a bit of consistency and us to have landed a real bargain
It's the kind of good news story we need this season

Wasn’t hugely impressed with the signing but he’s looked bright since his arrival . I’m conflicted by talk of him in the past being in and out in flashes of form and that maybe he’s found a home here . We’ll need more than two games to see where he is but it’s a good start .

…I think it’s a very good point, apparently he started really well in Germany. His type are often inconsistent. Saying that, he’s done all that has been asked of him to this point so it’s at least encouraging.

Shows how important pace is to stretching the pitch and moving the ball forwards. Couldn’t give a crap if he inconsistent with goals assists if he can keep the ball at this feet and move up the pitch it helps immensely. Walcott was quick but the ball used to also balloon off him

Being able to move the ball from A to B quicker than a snail is crucial. Those few less seconds it takes Gray to turn and face the goal than it does for Sigurdsson to turn while his brain buffers and he tries to sort his feet out makes all the difference. It’s those fine margins that are the difference between defenders being able to get back into shape, team mates not having to break their runs to stay onside, things like that are what keep attacks fluid rather than stop/start and reactionary.

It can’t be underestimated how much players like Sigurdsson and Gomes have hindered us as an attacking unit for years. There is no place for players like that in the modern game.

He's had 2 decent games so far. That's more than some of our players have managed over a couple of seasons.
