Probably started last year when he was asked to play cf and he wasn't very good at it...hasn't been very good with dyche, but yet hasn't really play much in his position...always out of position until he eventually got benched. He will have opportunities I am sure this season when you have such a crap bench.

Same. Wasn’t getting game time and wanted out. Which is fair enough in theory.
After an ok start he got properly benched at Bayer when they sacked their manager and new fella didn’t fancy him. Got himself out of there in 6 months.
Wish players would just get their heads down, work hard, and give everything in games. Eventually they will find themselves at the right level of club and can settle and flourish.

Don’t think we’ve seen the last of him yet tbh, think Dyche will re-integrate him (or try to at least) and then we will see if Gray is a big baby or a professional.

I love posts like this, no basis in fact, just making stuff up as fact. It's funny how we berate other people for doing this to us but we all seem to do it ourselves.Imagine he highlighted his failure to do the defensive dirty work and / or some iffy decision making in the opposing final ⅓ during a match post mortem and he wasn’t too keen on hearing about areas for improvement.
That or he failed the beep test
You know it is just as likely he actually hasn't done anything wrong and is annoyed at being treated poorly by mangement. I am sure most of us have been there at some point.
I've got some sympathy for him.
Dyche doesn't fancy him. Fair enough.
But not playing him pre-season, signing replacement, not giving him squad number + then telling him were not selling him isn't great.
It could've been handled better imo.

All conjecture at this point. But I wonder if Dobbin's poor display against Doncaster had us rethink this transfer. This coupled with us not getting another winger over the line has meant we want to keep him.
After a summer of us trying to replace him, to block the transfer right at the end is probably quite frustrating for him. But he needs to get his head down. Saying that he'll probably be able get himself a Saudi contract regardless of his performances between now and January.
I'd be surprised if the bad blood comes before this window. Dyche trusted him as a cf a fair bit last season.

He’ll be reintroduced into the squad. Get time when we need a goal at the end of a match. Score a worldie every 10th game and everyone will scold Dyche for not playing him.
He has no interest in defending, which is a requirement for Dyche. It’s why he only played CF at the end of the season, why they tried to sell him…his production belies his talent, and when his talent doesn’t show he offers less than nothing.

I have little doubt we would have binned him off had we got sulemana or gnonto and have had to stop his move away because of that.
Difficult for a player who apparently agreed contract terms with a few clubs, only to have his move cancelled. Everton that.
