According to this we've offered Yak a new one year deal.

http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Foxes-target-Nicky-Yakubu-bid-fails/story-12779320-detail/story.html?

"The 28-year-old Nigerian international spent a large part of last season on loan at the Walkers Stadium and is wanted by Eriksson as he attempts to return Leicester to the Premier League.

But reports on Merseyside suggest Yakubu, who is reluctant to drop down to the Championship, has agreed terms with Everton and is set to sign a new deal which will see him stay at Goodison Park for a further year.

If that happens, former England boss Eriksson is expected to test City's resolve by making them an offer for Maynard."

If there is any truth in it I imagine the deal for Ba is dead, Probably a load of bollocks though.

Really can't see that being true whatsoever. A plyer who we were quite happy to let go on loan to a championship club (we paid £11m for him) becuase he was useless, all of a sudden is going to stay? No chance.

The Yak coming back would be an admission by the manager that he got it all wrong by loaning him out in the first place.

I'd welcome him back, because he's a class finisher and always has been. But it's a huge climbdown by Moyes if true and another question mark over his judgement.

Has Moyes ever said Yak is finished with us though? I do struggle to see what he can do for us now but if the interest isn't high enough to sell him there is some logic in keeping him for another year.

Think Yak going was all about Money (Wages). Also his 2 best pals had left. Pienaar an Yobo. maybe he's realised Everton is the best place for him. A Yak on form is a joy to behold.

Anyway, we signed Ba yet!!

Yak has said himself that he isn't coming back. I'd guess there's a lot of pride to be swallowed, and some budgets to be readjusted, if anything like this is to go through.

Funny how the article mentions Nugent on a free. We've been linked heavily with him during the last two transfer windows.

He has only got a year left on his contract. Why would we only offer him a 12 month extension though if Moyes has had one of his rare change of hearts? I think we've moved on from the Yak personally.
